i got to pull apart the front of the car today.
tomorrow starts disassembly of the intercooler/rad setup
only have about 2 hours to work on the car everyday so it's gona be about 3 days of work to get the stock twins out of there
oh and i also got to assembly wheel to get an idea of what my wheels will look like when they're done... 18" ISS Forged RX-10 with step lips

i finally got all of the stock turbo system out of the car
this one motherf*#king down pipe nut that refused to let go...took me 2 hours of trying to be a proper mechanic till i said screw it and got the grinder out and went to town on it
made me feel a lot better to say the least :icon_tup:
so Monday begins fab work!!
well the ISS Forged fabricator will be doing the fabbing
i'll be installing the complete fuel system into the car
here are the pics from today
first one is my battle victory against that goddamn down pipe nut

THE MANIFOLD IS HERE!!!
i was lucky enough to get a super rare find of an authentic RE-Amemiya Twin Turbo manifold!! and this thing is a beauty!!
and even more lucky, it was built by RE-A to work specifically with my turbos
only a handful of these manifolds exist, so I'm going to be real careful with this piece :icon_tup:
all i have to do now is modify the waste gate piping to work with the twin waste gates that i'll be running
NO MORE WORDS I SHOW YOU PICTURES!!

so finally a fitment shot
i guess because this mani was on an RHD car the fitment is a bit different than on my LHD FD
the top flange was resting perfectly against the body of the car so we ended up having to cut that pipe to reposition it...its an easy fix but because the metal shop out here isn't getting their inventory refitted until monday it'll have to wait till then
but check it out guys, this is basically what she'll look like *dont mind the super precision turbo fitment tool in between the two turbos*

got the turbos setup in the car now
had to modify the manifold a bit to accommodate the twin waste gates i'll be running
so now we just need to build the downpipes
then we can fit in the waste gates
build the intercooler piping and she'll be ready to start up
and don't pay attention to the direction of the turbo outlets...i still have to position then properly for feed into the intercooler
btw Captain Brownie "CB" is my nick name at the shop lol thats why its written on top of the to do list

thanks!
i just have to make the downpipes and waste gate dump into the manifold, and it'll be all ready to go
and also putting on a custom 4 inch stainless steel exhaust from the downpipes back to make it completely free flowing
then off to tune, hopefully to put down around 500 at the wheels on low boost (15lbs ish)

its really hard to find a good tuner out here in miami, go figure
all the Lopez shops are complete garbage so this tune will suffice till Steve Kan visits the So.Fla area again

Have you heard of : http://horsepowerlogic.com/Index.html
They are located in West Palm, which is a bit of a hike, but the tuner Jack Cecil has the reputation of being one of the best on the East coast. What software are you running?

he tunes all of our customer GTRs
rotaries are a totally different ball game though. Thats where most people make the mistake and thats why rotaries have such a bad rap.
Jack is an incredible tuner, but to me doesn't have the amount of experience needed yet to properly tune a rotary. CFT isn't too much better, but they have been doing it a bit longer
i'll be getting the tune from CFT simply to get the car running. then when Steve Kan comes back down to miami, i'll get a full power tune from him. He's one of the best rotary tuners in the US, and has tuned several cars down here that run spectacularly
thats the thing about rotaries. when tuned correctly, theres very few things that can compete, but you get anything wrong and its like a bad girlfriend. breaks your heart after it takes all your money.
