PCM updates?

PCM updates?
I recently read that the 2011 models will have satellite imagery available along with the nav map, also incorporating street level traffic, in Europe AND the USA. Question is, will our current PCM3.1 unit's take just a software update to get these new features? Does the dealer charge for these updates?
Also, as a newbie to Porsche, how often should I expect a software update release on the car(I know they won't call me, but I'm a gotta have it type guy)..
thanks!

This is one that I'm confused on. Right now, I have the option on my Nav Setup to display Satellite images, but only down to a certainly level of zoom. How is this 'enhanced' service going to be different?
I would assume that the 2010 models would be updateable (at a price, much like purchasing an updated map DVD for a nav system), but more to come on that I guess.
As far as software updates, I've noticed that the PDK models have had a fair amount of updates (my C2S PDK had 5 new versions applied within a 6-month period of time). Keep in mind, those were software updates for the various internal systems of the car (Transmission Control Unit, Internal Computer, etc) and not necessarily PCM and/or Nav updates. I brought my P2S into the dealer for some trim work a few weeks ago and they had updated the software to the computer while it was there.
I think the approach to updating software is that, unless there is a known risk, the software will only get updated when the car is in for service. You shouldn't expect to be notified everytime a new software update is released.

So far, I like what I hear. I haven't had any problems yet, so let's wait and see.
where do you see the satellite imagery settings? I don't think my March 2010 build has it, but I'll double check.

I'm traveling now, so not near my Panamera for a few days to verify. Go into Nav, press Options, then press 'Set NAV' and there's a host of options. Also refer to the manual for the Set NAV details.
