Here's my .02 so take it with a grain of salt...Last winter I did the "All Season" thing for the 1st time instead of a dedicated snow tire...I read how there is no difference and all that jazz...They worked pretty well until January came...pure garbage after that!!! I had them mounted on a Lexus LS600h AWD...This winter I'm going with dedicated snow tires...you spent $135k minimum on your 970TT why risk it? Just sayin...

For Panamera Turbo models, 18" wheels are not compatible. They require a 19" or greater wheel.

For Panamera Turbo models with Ceramic Brakes, 19" wheels are not compatible. They require a 20" or greater wheel.

Ok I just a set of 19" Turbo Take offs on Ebay for $1900 shipped. But they come with Continental All Season Tires and No TPMS but do have the center caps.

I'll drive the all seasons untill I feel the snow is too much then buy Winter tires and keep the All seasons as backups. Suncoast prices are too much. the same set was over $4k shipped and without the TPMS sensors as well. The cheapest take off's i found were $2500 with the continental All Seasons.

Our sets aren't meant to compete with take-off sets. Our kits are new Genuine Porsche wheel sets: new factory wheels, factory installed tires, tire pressure monitors, and all are ready for installation.

New in the box, never installed.

There was a post on another board regarding Car/D's testing of winter tires and all-seasons last december. You lose some wet/dry performance going to winter tires vs all-season. So, if you are not on ice/snow 100% of the time?? I took this excerpt from what was posted in C/D on two tires.

Michelin pilot hxm4 All season

Snow: acceleration 0-30mph........10.2 secs
braking: 30-0mph ........105ft
skidpad 330 ft dia........... .28g

Wet 23 degrees:
Braking 60-0 140ft
skid: .84g

Dry 23degrees:
Braking, 60-0 130ft
skidpad, .89g

Michellin x-ice2 snow and ice

Snow: acceleration 0-30mph........7.1 secs
braking: 30-0mph ........83ft
skidpad 330 ft dia........... .33g

Wet 23 degrees:
Braking 60-0 174ft
skid: .75g

Dry 23degrees:
Braking, 60-0 158ft
skidpad, .80g

In reality, you need 3 sets of tires. Summer/all-season/winter for when it is actually snowing or icy!

Sorry I thought your Wheels had no TPMS sensors. Still i thought take off were factory intsalled as well they had just been on a car first. For intsance the set i bought had 10 miles on it. Even after adding TPMS I'm still at $2300. $2300 for take offs vs. > $4000 for never installed. You know how I went. There are others on sale on ebay.

Just out of curiousity how many people change their own wheeels? Thinking of just picking up a hydraulic lift and a compression wrench. I already have a Dauwalt Air Compressor.

I have been doing mine for years on a 997. If I get winter wheels for the Pana I will do the same. Just get a torque wrench with a plastic coated lug nut socket! I use a simple low profile floorjack.

Becareful with a compression wrench;-)

Been doing that all along. That's the whole point of having winter tires on a separate set of wheels.

What I was getting at was how many people change their own tires vs. go to a shop? I realize the whole point of having an extra set was to switch them out for seasons. I'll be out to buy a low profile hydralic jack and a torque wrench with plastic coated socket.

What torque settings should one use?

The sets we offer are from the Porsche Tequipment product line. They are all 100% new. Never been mounted, never seen pavement. Factory wheels with factory mounted and balanced tires.

Sure, you can buy a used set of wheels and add winter tires, have them installed. This is the factory alternative, designed to make the winter conversion simple.

Just received my Set today. They are brand new as far as I can see. You can hardly call them used with 10 miles on them. But I understand at suncoast brand new ("never touched pavement") is about $1700 more than with 10 miles on them "used".
