Anyone tried the Consumer Reports Car Buying Service?

I checked out the Consumer Reports Car Buying Service. It's a pretty good deal - you spec out the car and they have a dealer network that agrees on a fixed price. For a 2011 Panamera S MSRP of $111K, if I'm willing to drive 200 miles I can get the car for $102K - $8,700 off MSRP. If I only want to drive 100 miles I can get $7,000 off.

Anyone used this service?

try this

Try www.truecar.com

It can give you some similar info. I see basically 5% of on a base car (v6) and 6 or 7% on a more optioned out car. Seems like a baseline you should be able to beat. Shows invoice on car + individual options.

This would be a car that I order to my specifications - there is currently no option to order a 2012, but I assume the discount would be the same. Assuming I could do that, would 8% off on an ordered 2012 be a good deal?

Has anyone gotten 10% on an ordered car that isn't at the end of it's year?
