4S vs Turbo in Snow

New to forum - thanks for all the great information that all of you have put out. I am looking at a new 2011 Panamera. Trying to decide between a 4S and a Turbo. Really want the Turbo, but concerned about how well it will handle snow and ice in the winters as compared to the 4S. Would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Turbo is heavier - should handle at least the same with proper snow tires.

I have had them both and it is just a function of money - if it works for you go with the Turbo - a night and day difference compared to the 4S

Thanks - I have an S600 and it is impossible in the snow - even with snow tires. I will be putting snow tires on the new car too.

My S63 was like a death trap in the snow. I have a jeep I drive in the winter and I only take the othe car out when it is dry and no chance of snow.

My Panamera 4S, equipped with Michelin Pilot Alpin snow tires on the 19’s, was awesome in the snow and ice of a great lakes winter. Best winter car I have ever had.

I have a PTT with 20 inch TurboII wheels. I had Pirelli Scorpion snow tires last winter. And I live in Boston. We went skiing to Vermont twice with no problems. I was going to get 19s for winter but I just don't like the design of the smaller wheels. Before Pan I had a X6 50i with 20 snow tires. I have to say Panamera is better. I don't think there will be a big difference between the turbo and 4s. Especially because if you're not in Sport mode the gas pedal is not too sensitive. So it won't create problems, and it then starts on 2nd gear.

4s vs Turbo, i was definitely gonna get the 4s. I test drove it like 3 times and never even touched the turbo model just to save myself some money. The dealer then somehow convinced me to test drive PTT and I was sold within the first 2 mins

Thanks - I have an X6 5.0 that is pretty much all we can drive in the winter. Put 19 inch snow tires on it and it is good to go.
