How much power does the PTTS have really (vs Mansory, PTT, M5)?

I wonder how much power the PTTS really has? It is significantly faster than the 585bhp Mansory in same mag tests (Motortrend). The M5 figures for comparison with 560bhp. Or is it the 800nm of torque that wins it for the PTTS?

Missing something, or is the Mansory PTT actually slower (everywhere) and have less grip than a bone stock PTT? Money well spent...

The bulky aerokit probably spoils the aerodynamics completely and the big wheels have poor grip...

I thought I was the only one who was missing the point.... 12sec 1/4mi isn't a bragging number.

My point was 2 slower cars have more power, so how underrated are the PTT and S. What this thread turned up to be, however, was that one should be carefull with aftermarket aerokits

If the aerokit is an attempt to make the Panny prettier, or meaner looking or more purposeful in some way, it's a fail. Not a big fan of aerokits in general, particularly not on a sedan. The fact that it is somehow SLOWER just makes no sense to me. The Sport Design kit, ala the GTS, just seems more natural.

I may be in the minority, but I like the way the stock Panny looks, particularly the GTS. This car doesn't need any bling.

Probably a little about the P-cars understating and more about others overstating. Does appear that the Mansory car is not making near the power advertised, may actually be making less than stock (closer to a GTS than a PTT, no?). The M5 is pulling on the PTTS on top, so that may be close to a "real" number. Little surprised that the PTTS does not pull the "base" PTT by that much... that base 500 hp number may be a little low. As far as the kit goes, it isn't better looking and it is slower; that's definitely a win-win.

I would be very careful about saying the M5 is signifficantly faster at the top end. The PTT and S have a much hier top speed, Autobild said they didnt stop even at 320Km/h. So the gearing is different to the M5. Look at this 0-300 on wet surface:

Here is a base PTT dyno:

Here is what other tuners have gotten. Seems the Panny is not a tuner friendly car, so I dont think a famous tuner like Mansory would not deliver bhp that is promised:

Techart 580ps/830nm

0-100km/h 3.8
0-200km/h 12.5

http://www.sportauto-online.de/fahrb...r-2745538.html

SpeedArt 560bhp/810nm

0-100km/h 3,9
0-200km/h 13.6

SPortec 575bhp/820nm

0-100km/h 3,9
0-200km/h 13.6

http://www.sportauto-online.de/vergl...o-2778817.html

SPortec 565bhp
0-100km/h 4.0
0-200km/h 13.2
0-300km/h 52.8 (Comparison above PTTS 40,7s)

Still the best times ever posted are Panamera Turbo with Powerkit (540bhp/800nm). Could this be that this car has the mechanical LSD vs the PTV with electronic LSD in the PTTS and new PTT:

0-100km/h 3,6s
0-200km/h 11,8s
1/4 mile 11,53s

Then you must not modify your cars much!

Seriously, most tuners exaggerate the hp claims. Yes, there are a handful of tuners that do not...but I would not throw Mansory in that group...they are more known for their crazy aesthetics than proven power.

People can blame the aero kit and the heavy wheels on the Mansory PTT....but up to 100mph...a 85hp increase should more than make up for the additional aerodynamic drag and heavier wheels. That car is just not making the power they are claiming to be making. It happens all the time with tuners. I have had many cars that I have modified and found the claims to be mostly BS when actually tested on the dyno and at the strip....and the tunes were done by some pretty reputable tuners. That is why I also prefer custom dyno tuning over the generic canned tunes...because you can see the tangible difference on your exact car...not what it did on some other car. I think Mansory just sent over their canned tune to the U.S. distributor and never tested to see if it was making the claimed power. They probably needed to tweak something...maybe even for the quality of the gasoline used.

Yes, modification is nearly impossible here. You have to prove the CO2 values by state laboratories, or the car cannot be registered in this country. Pretested documents are not valid, unless they are OEM parts. SO tuning is done in secret and as I have a guarantee car, I would never risk it.

I get that they dont make the hp promised, but slower than the original, isnt that wierd??
