I had a 911 Turbo for 2 years and then traded it in for a 599 GTB. I immediately felt I may not have made the right decision. Although the car was absolutely gorgeous, I missed the Porsche right away. What I didn't miss was the cramped interior (the Ferrari is a true GT and was comfortable to sit in). After 2 year and 5 times in the shop, I went to the Porsche dealership to buy a Cayenne Turbo and found out they were backed up until February. The salesperson asked if I wanted to test drive a Panamera Turbo. Honestly, I really did not.

However, I had time to kill and for the first time in my life I listened to a salesperson and went for a 20 minute drive. I can't say why, but I fell in love with it. I thought about that car for the next 5 days. The comfort and luxury were amazing. I liked it better than the interior of my old MB E 500. And when I stomped on it, I could not believe how that low-end torque pushed me back in the seat. 1.5 secs to 30.

I have only owned it for a week, but I haven't been this happy about a new car in 15 years. I've owned 330xi, M5, 911 turbo, 599 GTB. This is the best all around vehicle I've owned.

2012 Panamera Turbo (Black/Black) Sports Package, Comfort Package, Burmeister Sound system. I still can't believe how much I love this car.

 

Welcome to the club, I've had it for 1.5 year and still can't believe how great of a car it is.

I've had my share of cars, but by far far this is the only car that love.

 

Congratulations on your move. I currently own a Panamera Turbo and a F430. I love them both but as you said Panamera is the best everyday car with so much power. I had traded my 997TT for the F430 back in 2008 and found out right away that the two cars couldn't be any more different. I was pretty much in the same boat as you. Good move though, you're gonna love the Panamera more and more with time.

 

Congrats ... ive had mine for a month and also shocked how much i want to be in the car driving ... running errands like a kid that just got his drivers permit!

 

I was actually thinking of going the other way (from PTT to 599) and was intrigued by your post - can you tell me what you like better about the panamera and/or what you didn't like about the 599. I love my panamera & think it's the best "all around" car I've ever owned but I was considering a change.

Great story. Amazing that you love it so much given the past cars. I usually default to the panny, it is the perfect daily IMO.
