New Porsche sport mode retrofit

Panamera Sport Plus Mode Software

Sport Plus button for even sportier tuning of the engine and chassis. Includes launch control for cars with PDK, and digital display on the PCM (instrument cluster for some models). The kit comes with a new console switch as shown.

With the additional option "SPORT PLUS" mode, the following improvements are added over the standard sports mode: Sport Plus Mode: More aggressive calibrations of PDK shift patterns, Porsche Stability management (PSM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), and improved electronic motor management. See the owners manual for more information.

Launch Control: Not possible for Hybrid, Diesel, or Manual Transmissions.

Display: Most functions are displayed through the PCM head unit, depending on the production date, some functions could be displayed in the instrument cluster.

Console Button: A new center console button with harness.

Software License: We submit your software coding to Porsche, and your installing dealer can upload this information from the Porsche network.

good for those who can find a deal on a non sport chrono car. sounds like this doesnt add the wart on the dash for the lap timer...does it add the lap timer in the pcm though?

Correct, this does not add the wart on the dash. However it does add the lap timer through the PCM.

I would imagine 1-2 hours. Basically the tech needs to install the switch and reprogram the car. Should be an easy enough install for any certified tech.

Does this add the temporary boost in torque during launch control?

Has anyone done this retrofit, I am hoping they come out with this for the 991. I saw they have it for the 997, so they must wait a few years before they release the software. Anyway, was it a good upgrade?

I dug up this video from Porsche.com, hopefully it will answer some of your questions:

Not quite sure how I could post a picture of the Sport mode software... I can link a photo of the finished switch on the dash if that will help. Let me know what you need the photo of and we will see if we can source it for you.

I bought a used 4S that had it installed. Works perfect and I like not having the timer on the dash. When you engage launch mode, it displays on the screen just like a factory chrono. If you don't have sports plus, I would do it. It's like getting a huge performance upgrade done but retains full factory warranty.
