I'll get the V8 Ghibli GTS when it comes out as a 4-door companion to the 612.

Well - I'm close to a new car. The 612 is the front runner but the age of those available makes me reluctant - but absolutely the best car I have seen for a daily driver.

But my post revolves around my driving the new Maserati QP V8 today. My dealer called me and they just got two in and have more inbound - none are spoken for. In person the car just seems bland and big and inside the car is just like a big boring car. driving was OK but basically seemed like I was driving a buick - I was exceptionally disappointed as I would have bought it today. Strange the QP is wider than a S-class - it seems like they went away from sporty and opted for just big. It felt great getting back in my PTT after the test drive.

It looks like a new 2014 PTT is my plan with late Sept delivery and then the 612 as my extra car along with my hot rod minivan the R63 will round out the garage for now.

I cannot imagine a more practical and fun to drive 4dr car than an S63. Emphasis on the word practical. These other companies make awesome sports cars...they should just stick to what they are good at...2drs. They can try as much as they want to but AMG perfected the 4dr badass a long time ago.

I've owned every AMG 4 door made - the original 1992 500e to my S63 -

My Panamera Turbo which replaced my S63 exceeds my S63 in every way.

Wow.....I would not even use S63 and Panamera GTS or TT in the same sentence... I would take a panny every day plus sunday over any AMG variant.

I appreciate the AMG brand, but it really needs to figure out what it wants to do when it grows up.

Couldn't agree more. I've loved the Panamera since it's debut (I am partial to things with a hatch in the back being on my 2nd Audi Avant) without ever having the opportunity to drive one. I watch Top Gear religiously and have never understood their issues with it's looks. Like others have said here, to each their own I guess.

Top Gear has issues with Porsche in general - the Panny looks from the side are not the best, but it makes the car practical and a super daily driver.

To the topic:
When I am driving my PTT I never cared much about how it looks, I just love driving it!

For the Rapide - Since you have the R63 to haul people and stuff you might enjoy the Rapide - sounds fantastic and is a bit more rare. But it won't keep up with a PTT on the open road, but you will have a lot of fun driving it along the way!

Good luck finding what you want!

S63 is way under powered for the size/weight of the car

agree to disagree
panamera is one of the best looking/unique cars in the market. IMO

the car receives more positive attention(not that it matters) from the masses than any 4 door AMG car i've owned. Overall it's the best 4 door i've ever owned looks/performance/handling/
