2010 Panamera Turbo pricing
So I'm in the market for a used turbo, and I have been having a hard time gauging the value of these things. It seems like prices are ALL OVER the place
I'm currently looking at a 2010 with 3k miles. Warranty is running out in 5 months, but its got the 7yr/70k fidelity platinum warranty. Its got the burmester audio,20" wheels, sports chrono plus pkg,sports exhaust and a couple other small options. Seller is asking 105k.
At first I was shocked at how high the price is, but then upon further research, it looks like it might be about right considering its miles and what else is for sale. However, I look at previous threads from a YEAR ago on this forum, and it seems like thats exactly what people were paying for 2010s and 2011s at that time! There just isn't enough recently sold turbos online for me to get a good feel of the prices.
Am I missing something? What do you guys think. Help a corvette owner transfer over to the dark side (porsche)

That seems a little high to me, but 3k miles on a 2010/11 makes it tough to find a comparable. Should probably be closer to $95k.
What was the sticker? Sounds like ~$150k.
When did the clock start ticking on the fidelity? W only 3k miles i bet the 6yr fidelity can be had for ~3k w a bit of shopping.

at those miles its not bad
prices are "all over" because you need to compare apples to apples
ie same options condition and miles
you will always pay a premium for a car with virtually no miles and then the higher end options like PCCM and Burmeister etc....

I put this same reply under the reliability post but for those who don't read them both here's my 2 cents
If they are trying to sell you a 2010 for $105K they are bending you over regardless of the mileage. First off a dealer doesn't really give much if any more money to someone on a low mileage trade - I just traded my 2010 PTT for a 2013 Turbo S and mine wasn't a low mileage car but it was a mint condition hard loaded example (Sticker was $160k) and I couldn't get anyone to give me more than low 80's for it on trade - so at best I would say they gave that person $85k on trade and now they are trying to sell it for $105k - nice markup on a used car. - this is one of the reasons I hate car dealers - I know they need to make money but they always have to make it twice - on the car you buy and the one you trade.

In the grand concept, 3 k or 20 K, both are used. If you intend to put less than 80 K over 5 years, you might be better served with a 10 to 15 K car than has a proven track record as opposed to one that has "practically" sat for 3-4 years (2010 could be a 2009 build as well). Additionally, being an early model car, it statistically is more prone to failures which you would not like to have when your porsche warranty runs out. I understand there may not be as many turbos with options you might desire on the market but it is a real risk, if you land on that one car that happens to ahve a few dormant problems and has not yest stood the test of time (a few thousand miles more than 3k) while paying such a sum. On the other hand, cars in this price class are not always a rational decision. I love my 2010 P4S and treat it like my mischievious mistress in that it has a finicky side, but in honesty, of all the cars I have owned in my 40 plus life, it has given me trouble more than any other car. that said, I still have 3 years or Porsche warranty and intend to drive it all the way. Just don't get Pi$$ed off if it breaks down.

Ok, so I wanted to start off by saying thanks for all the replies!
This is a private party and not a dealer (In arizona, that means I don't pay sales tax on the purchase, which is a big difference). Its an early 2010 model, so warranty is still good till the beginning of 2010 . As for the fidelity. I have the papers for it. He paid close to 10 grand for it! From my understanding it starts the day he bought it, which was his purchase date in 2010. I think he might have had the wool pulled over his eyes on that one, by the dealer. The price might make sense if it was 7 EXTRA years after factory, but there is nothing on the paper to indicate this.
I understand its a 'used' car, all the same. I have thought that I might even be better off with a higher mileage one but CPO. HOWEVER, then I talked it over with a few friends and there is a bonus to a low mileage one. I do plan on actually driving this thing. So after 5 years of driving it (8k a year), it will only have 45k miles on it, while if I buy a higher mileage one it might end up having 80k-100k. I think it will be ALOT harder to sell a porsche turbo car at almost 100k than one thats under 50k (which also means ALOT cheaper). I might save 10-15k by buying the higher mileage on now, but I will lose out more when I sell it. Am I looking at that wrong?

Think of it this way after 5 years of driving this car you are going to have a 8 or 9 year (in car model years) car and 10 to 15K in mileage will not matter very much at all. Chances are the Panamera will have a new look by then as well which will take away value to. If it were me I'd go with a higher mileage car for less money. I have quite a bit of experience with car purchases having owned around 300 different cars in the last 20 years. Good Luck

I agree with Mr Price - although you want to believe your lower mileage car will be worth more the reality is if you sell it to a dealer they could care less - it's still a 10 year old used car with no warranty. a private party might be willing to pay a few bucks more but certainly not $10-$15K because of lower mileage. Once the warranty is up the mileage issue is pretty irrelevant.

Point taken, guys. I gave an offer of 95k but he didn't want to go lower than 100k. I told him that's fine and just to let me know if he changes his mind. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a slightly higher mileage one with extended warranty.
My biggest challenge is finding a private party seller with the options I want. Buying from the dealer will cost me an extra 9k in taxes, which ruins any deal....

Hold firm and Good luck. With the 2014s out now, there is more supply of 2010/11s from people trading for newer. I dont think the seller will get a better offer than yours.
It took me 3 weeks of negotiating to get to the deal I needed.

When buying from a dealer out of state the dealer wont collect taxes from you. Taxes are collected when you title/register the car in your home state regardless of private party or dealer purchase. Well at least here in CA.

$95k is a solid offer. I doubt that seller would get any offers over 95k.

I won't pay taxes to an out of state dealer, however when I come back to AZ to title it, they will see its from a dealer and I have to pay sales tax.

$15,000 less for 30k more miles is completely reasonable on a car like this.
If you disagree, then please find me a car in my criteria (color, private seller, lower miles etc...) thats ion my price range and a better deal , and I will forever be grateful
