Aftermarket Exhaust options

Aftermarket Exhaust options
Are there any aftermarket exhaust options that fit my needs.
I'm really disappointed with the sports exhaust option on my turbo I just bought. Pressing the button does absolutely nothing, unless you basically have your ear to the exhaust outside.
I want an exhaust that utilizes my sports exhaust button function. When it is 'closed' I would want the exhaust to be quite (under normal use). However when it is 'open' I would want the exhaust to sound throaty and loud.
Any recommendations?

Hello,
We suggest the Meisterschaft exhaust:

As for the Valve control, we are sure you can utilize your factory sports function, you will need to find someone who can do that for you.
Thank you for your time.

Here's a short sound clip of my exhaust. Valves open. I will try to get a longer clip and possibly while driving as well when I have the time.

Will it still be 'quite' when the valve is closed? Any videos of the difference just these mods make...

I will do a video soon since I am done with the exhaust upgrade on this car. People will be thinking i'm driving the GTS if I remove my rear badge.

Do it in stages! First do the x-pip res delete and see what you think. You'll be keeping everything the same including the electronics of the stock exhaust and the look. I bet you'll like it a lot and that might be enough. If it's not, then change the cats and DP.
Good luck!

The only video I found of this mod, made it sound like there was some drone and alot of gargling in the exhaust.

I don't think you'll have any problems with droning. I haven't had any on mine. My general sense is that droning tends be issue on non-turbo cars. The swap is really easy, takes an hour or so at any decent shop. It's not that expensive so it's an easy way to try it and then you can add from there if its not enough grunt for you!
Ultimately, if you decided you don't like the changes and want to do a full exhaust, there are folks on this forum that will buy your toys!

if living in an area with no emissions. would you advise just getting straight pipe or do you still need down pipes? i do not have sports exhaust however i did have the flaps tweaked on the stock exhaust so that it stays open all the time.

Catless downpipe will be a grand cheaper. Those HJS high flow cats are not cheap and you can use that savings for a tune which is a must in order to not get a CEL.

go straight pipe thats what I have on my 996 TT. only thing is you need and ECU flash for the CEL
no reason to have cats if you dont have to, performance robbers, heavy and slows turbo spool

also what about the x-pipe is it still necessary?
