Whats the point of the chrono?
So whats the actual point and useability of the chrono plus hardware?
Obviously the sports+ mode and such has obvious benifits. But whats with the actual chrono?
I've read the manual, but as usual, the info on it is vague.
From my understanding the only thing it does is you can press a button to time a 'lap', which is completely useless, since you have to press the button again and again to start a new lap each time. This seems horribly distracting to do the pressing manually and also inaccurate.
Am I missing something?

Yeah, endlessly debated especially in the 911 forums... The chrono in my humble opinion is just a gimmic to sell the transmission programming and.dynamic engine mounts...
My marketing guess is that by putting the dash wart, and calling the package "chrono" makes it an easier to sell option because the buyer perceives he is getting something..
The lap stuff is useless, but you can program it to be a clock...lol

Normally I'm the pilot in my PTT. But recently I let a friend have a go and while I was a passenger I played a bit with the sport chrono. It looks like it will keep track of your 0-60 times. I can't remember if that was a default function of starting the timer or of launch control or if I pressed something specific to activate it.

I believe the sport chrono on the 911 will rev match and blip throtle on downshifts with the manual transmission, in addition to the dynamic engine mounts.
On the Panemera I do not beleive there are any dynamic engine mounts.
"
The Sport Chrono Package helps to provide an even sportier setup. Included in the package are a digital and analog stopwatch, the SPORT PLUS button, the longitudinal and lateral acceleration display and a performance display in PCM for displaying lap times."
If I weren't getting the GTS I would fore go it...
