Panamera Turbo vs RS7 vs CLS63s
Great read and reassuring to those who love this car. These guys drive cars all day for a living and basically say it's the best car they have ever driven. NICE!

I have to agree with Cole. I really was down to the CLS and the Panamera.
I'll probably make the switch to the three pointed star also to only come to the Panamera years down the line.

see my opinion is exactly the opposite - the only car I would consider trading my Turbo S for is the audi RS7. I actually use my back seat and the one in the CLS is pretty useless for adults, the RS7 actually has more leg room and a bigger hatch than my panamera both positives for my needs. Plus I have had a horrible experience with MB, I had both an s55 and an s65 and they were both the least reliable cars I've ever owned and after how I was treated by the local dealer I vowed never to own another Benz

After driving all of the above, they all have the same problem, 4 seats, no 5 seat option. Anyway Audi and MB are very silmilar. Audi is very refined, Mercedes makes more sound, but they both are very comfortable saloon cars, whereas as the Porsche gives you more of that sportscar feeling and it has that little extra spark. Audi and MB are more comfortable. Just didnt impress me enough to make the move, Id rather drive the older Panamera, its just more exclusive.

I am changing no time soon....the drive home today after work, in sports+, paddle shifting all the way....this car is just bananas. Not the fastest, not the prettiest, not the most exclusive....BUT, far and away the best all around car I have ever owned. period. Porsche just got it totally right. I am stoked to have this GTS..,....and damn oh damn....that exhaust note is just the most amazing sound in the world (other than, perhaps, the sound of my 5-year old daughters voice!).
My only complaint is that the cosmetic changes to the new "14 one have me worried....the rear end is just fugly now....so, not exactly sure that I will lease another one in two years, unless they change it again. This may be the first car I ever elect to just buy outright post lease....

I'm on my third Panamera - The CLS backseat is pretty useless and the RS7 is an interesting alternative - but I think the PTT is the best 4 door presently made.
Mine is my daily driver - kids, car seats, spilled ice cream and everything in between. The kids love it too.

For anyone that has one, or has had one, where dies the m5 fit into the equation? The new one is putting up some impressive numbers. Years ago, I had a few m3's, convertible and coupe... Very impressive. I have to think the m5 is just a beast. Unfortunately, to me, just not too visually appealing. The Porsche looks like a scalpel... The m5 a tank

With a simple exhaust and ecu upgrade, my PTT is significantly enhanced while maintaining the basic goodness as described in the video. I was an M5 guy for my sedan needs for many years and I'm very happy that I tried the PTT, though I had initial trepidations about it's looks. At the HP levels of these cars, awd is advantageous. I'm so satisfied with my PTT that I can't imagine
a replacement at this point until possibly the next version-still a couple years away. This is rare for me
as I have automotive A.D.D. I'm surprised about the comment about the new E63 and S63/65 as I thought that they might be possibilities.

Curious...I have the the Panny GTS. Does an exhaust upgrade on the turbo give you a sound that now approximates the exhaust note of the GTS? if so, that would be amazing! Also, I imagine the Turbo just super fast....does an ECU upgrade just make it that much better? If so, is this something that the dealer approves of? or, run the possibility of fouling up the warranty?

Have you guys test driven both the new M5 and the new E63?
The M5 used to be the scalpel compared to the muscle car mentality of the E63 but dare I say that I feel the new AMG E63 feels more athletic? The new M5 feels like a porky pig with no road feel at all. Too electronic for my tastes now.
Am in the minority here?
