Average Annual Maintenance

Hey all,

Wanted to get some feedback on annual maintenance costs for the PTT. I'm currently in the market and getting my prices but while cross shopping, I see the BMW 650 Gran Coupe offers 4 years maintenance. I won't go into which is better or not but it's compelling. No one will be slumming in either vehicle.

Thanks!

I guess either everyone does their own maintenance or I'm too poor asking this question if I'm asking about maintenance on this car....lol

I don't think I'm qualified to answer in full, but it seems that you should expect to replace tires every 8-12k at a minimum. The BMW runflats if you opt for the msport pkg will last about 12-15k. Both dependent on driving habits. Maintence is also subjective. BMW will perform the required sevices for free only when you are at or around the mileage they recommend. A mid cycle oil change is on you for example. BMW Brakes are usually not put on until they are gone at around 40-50k, my experience. My guess is the the Porsche will run a bit more costly than the Beemer. After warranty is over, I'm just not sure.

Perhaps someone else with along er term ownership experience with a Panamera can chime in as most of my stuff has been warranty items.

Have you checked with your dealer to see if they offer a pre-paid preventative maintenance plan? My understanding is that BMW and Audi continue to offer such, but it is no longer "free" ... it's an extra. MB does the same thing. Porsche does not advertise such, but I'm sure your dealer would be willing to price out a similar plan, no?

The average annual costs to maintain the PTT is really dependent on how much you drive.

Oil Change every 10k-12k is $240 at my local dealership.

At 40k is the big service which runs from $1500-2000. Then back to your oil change intervals after that.

This is actually not too bad. I know brakes are usually expensive (priced the front rotors at about $1200 plus $250 for pads). I guess this will be about the same as my MB CL500 which was not too bad, as I only do about 12K a year anyway (no track time). Tires I can see going through a set a year with these bad as hell roads in NJ.

I will ask the dealer if they have prepaid maintenance but at these prices it is not a big deal. I just worry more about items that may not be covered under warranty.
