Noise in rear of Panny

I have a 10 PTT, and just had the creaking front end problem fixed with replacement of the lower control arms.
Still cannot figure out why i hear a low pitched, thunking noise from the rear, whenever the pavement is less than prefect. Service tech at dealer says it could be the air compressor that hangs on rubber bushings in the rear; inspected but looked fine.
Fortunately i dont have the high pitched whine others have...
Thoughts?
