991c2s vs. 2013 panamera GTS
So I drove back to back yesterday, both with PDK. I'm mulling over the GTS. First off, both are great engines. I LOVE the brakes on the GTS. They feel stronger than the 991 even. I don't have PCCB.
Next, I cranked the Bose in the GTS and it sounded great to me. Better than the 991 IMHO. I like the alcantara too but it eliminates the ventilated seats, obviously. The GT silver package is awesome. Beats my 991 interior.
Now to some core elements. I found the GTS PDK to be slower shifting than the 991. Maybe that's corrected in 2014. The GTS is much more stable due to the AWD, there's tons of grip and given the torque, the car can handle it with ease. Makes sense that the turbo is a beast.
The 991 has that reckless feeling that the GTS doesn't really have, probably due to power to weight and simply size. I do like that the GTS has two choices of PASM. I'd probably drive it more in sport plus than I do the 991.
Steering : both cars had power steering plus and honestly, both are fabulous. You can be very aggressive with the GTS and it kinda feels like that was the intent.
Just on my GTS test drive the car gets looks, no doubt about it. I think it's an awesome looking car.
I tell ya, to drive year round it's a dead heat to me...different cars but when you consider AWD and extra room, a very close race. And, they have pretty similar 1/4 mile numbers as well.

If you have a family get the GTS. If you don't get the 911. I been driving in a new GTS for the last few days and the only thing I like about it more than a 911 is the engine. I really think it was a mistake for porsche to put a v8 only in this car and the 918. All he 911's should have a tiny v8 or maybe a flat 8 (if that even exist) because the sound is amazing.
But the GTS stills seems kinda slow due to its weight. Or it could just be the sensation of speed is less. Even the boxster S to me I can feel the sensation of speed more than the GTS.
