I'm thinking about changing my sport exhaust on my 2012 Turbo S panny for one that has a deeper and more pronounced tone. I don't want to change the X-pipe. My question is...how much better sound will I get and which one do you guys recommend?

Here's a clip of our Tubi exhaust system for the Panamera Turbo. Replaces the section you want to change, includes valves, and adds a deeper slightly more aggressive tone without being over-the-top.

cvprez is infamous around these parts
If you want tho change the sound you've got to switch out the downpipes and probably the x-pipe to accomplish anything significant. I have the turbo S with the sport exhaust and did just those 2 items and left the oem mufflers with valves and it makes a nice improvement in sound quality and volume (+ a nice increase in power as well)

This.

You want to ideally keep the oem sport mufflers with valves, and change other components to achieve a more aggressive tone. Downpipes, X Pipes, etc.

Of course you could remove the stock sport exhaust, but likely you won't notice any huge difference from the factory sport exhaust vs. aftermarket mufflers if that is the only thing you swap.

Jason,

I do not understand what the "downpipes" are. Could you please explain? So, if I change my downpipes and the x-pipe will I still be able to use the sport exhaust button to open and close the valves?

the downpipes come off the turbos and are the start of your exhaust system - they also house your catalytic converters (emissions control) which happen to be one of the restricting elements on the panamera turbo. When you replace them you eliminate that restriction and open the exhaust flow. The valves are actually in the mufflers so you retain the ability to open and close them.

Sorry Jason..I've gotta disagree. Our sport muffler replacements still have valves, and are a pretty significant bump over the stock sound. The nicest thing about them is that because they're rear mufflers, you don't run the risk of adding any cabin noise or drone by amplifying the exhaust sound directly underneath the passenger area.

Thanks for the call yesterday Dpm - I'm really glad we could talk and discuss the best option for your personal needs! Definitely keep me updated

Like we discussed, you can definitely change out every part of your exhaust system and spend a significant amount of money doing so, but we like to work with you and all of our clients on a one on one basis to determine exactly what you need to achieve the goals for your car - and also what you don't.

The Tubi style setup is a great option if end up replacing your factory sports exhaust system, and Tom and the guys at Champion have been nothing short of extremely helpful whenever I've had an inquiry for our customers - they make some really outstanding stuff, and we are definitely glad to be able to be a source for their products!
