Panamera Driver Side Window Switch Issues.

Great results w/ jayi836's $19 fix
I also purchased this switch kit - delivered for $19 - and replaced all 4 switches in minutes. I'm not quite sure how the PO broke off the originals but hopefully these will last longer under my stewardship.

The bottom switches weren't replaced - only the 4 window switches. After seeing the gap in the pic I simply nudged the bottom switch so that it lines up per the pic below. I'm not quite sure what the PO has done to these switches but they seem to have seen some wear for sure.
My car is 8 years old and I know it isn't perfect - for $19 this was the right fix for me. It is a bit of a complicated procedure and it does take almost 2 minutes to complete all four switches, so you may be better off just buying the entire panel from the dealer.

Seems like these parts are sourced from all over the world, Turkey if recall.
There may be some lint or debris causing it to be out of alignment combined with some tool marks.
A flat plastic blade works without marring the surrounding plastic.
Bottom line is no one will see this and as you said the car is 8 years old.
Just comes down to the level of effort to replace a $140.00 part not made by Porsche.
We live in an instant gratification time, a 2 minute install is perhaps minute too long :-)
Porsche and Audi are the most profitable divisions of VW.
If you want a perfect car lease every 3 years, keep their share holders happy.

I was looking at similar occurrences. Want to replace one chrome trim for one button.
From research, found that YOU DONT HAVE TO PURCHASE ENTIRE SWITCH ASSEMBLY.
You only need porsche panamera button chrome kit.
Kit costs about 20 bucks for 4 buttons. I will look into how these are replaced, but from knowledge collected thus far, each button is removed by pressing in a tab going down side of each button. So I will try to get this done. Will comment after i try. But you dont need entire switch assembly. Only the trim kit. Cheap.

Thanks for this tip! Will try to do mine tonight!
Anyone need a non side assist control in great condition? I am putting in the correct one on mine.
Right side of the pic is what I'll be posting for sale. All the chrome tips are intact.

Purchased a switch assembly from China recently for around $40 and decided to hold off DIY til I find the right instructions how to remove the old switch. Found in this thread that removing only the front door speaker grill would be the safest and fastest way. Thanks for the posts and pix. Here's the finished product. Works perfectly!
So here's the thing, I discovered that if you go through the route of forcing the grill out will make the clips expand causing the grill to have a gap of around 3mm in between the grill and the door. The grill will now rattle everytime you close the door. We dont want that! The only solution is to install either a double adhesive tape or a foam tape measuring 4.5mm to 5mm thickness on the grill frame to keep it snug. Hope this helps.
