Aftermarket battery for PTT?
My auto start/stop not working properly. It will stop on the red light but will not start. Message shows start car manually. I ended up need to put to park and manually start the car. Went to dealer was told car need new battery because I don't drive enough. Only 14k miles for 2012 model and not covered warranty. I was told I can only use porsche battery otherwise I will have all kind of electronic problem. The factory battery is $700 and need to be ordered because they don't have it in stock. Is it true that I only can use factory battery? Does anyone use aftermarket battery? Is there any specific procedure to change battery? Any advise will be great!!

I'd stay away from the dealer in the future. That's a ridiculous response on several levels.
Short version: they aren't just lying to you about needing a "special Porsche battery," they're lying to you about the cause of your problem.
Assuming that it is indeed caused by low battery voltage, that just means the battery needs a charge, not that it's damaged.
The battery could be at the end of its life, and not holding a charge well. That doesn't mean it's your fault.
If you were discharging the battery deeply enough to damage it, you'd have noticed it long before now. You'd have to drain it to the point where the car couldn't start several times.
It's possible if you didn't drive much, and the battery self-discharged as a result to the point where you couldn't start, and you recharged or jump started the car, and you did this regularly, you could shorten the life of the battery.
In the absence of any of that, it's at most a defective battery that really ought to be covered by warranty.

I went to advance auto part do battery testing and everything is good. Went back to dealer and do testing again. Dealer told me they tested it through computer and result shows recharge voltage less than 12.6 volt. Therefore auto stop/start will not function correctly.

A fully charged battery will provide about 12.6v, but the auto stop/start should work even if the battery is down to 12.2 or so. How low is your battery's voltage?

I think you should replace your dealer.
Do you have another authorized service center in your area?
The battery voltage is, by the way, something you can display on the multi-function display. I've got a S e Hybrid, which is very different in the way it handles start-stop since it's handled by the 384v system instead of the 12v system, so I can't help you with the particulars of what you should be seeing.

I thought if your battery charge is weak, it should disable this feature and not letting the engine shut off. My problem is it will shut off but not restart it back when I release the brake pedal.

I drive my Panamera only a couple times a week and battery voltage would drop enough that the auto stop/start would not work. Then I bought a CTEK Multi US 4.3 battery charger that you can plug into cigarette lighter and it will charge and recondition the battery! This works great, and costs under $100. I do a complete recondition every 6 months and just trickle charge periodically in between. I would try this before you change batteries and if it doesn't work at least you'll be able to maintain your new battery at a high level longer! Good Luck.

I just recently had to replace mine as well (2012 Turbo S). Dealer told me $800 installed. I laughed and found identical battery at O'Reilly auto parts (minus Porsche logo) for $174. The removal and re-install and reprogramming that have to be done after are the pain, but there are instructions for the process. I was able to talk the dealer down in price and ended up around $400 installed so I didn't have to do all the work. Dealer did say they go bad in about 4 years. Lots of electrical systems on these cars.
