Oil change/service--how far over can you go?

My car just told me I needed my oil service now..I called my dealer and they are backed up and not able to get me car until next week which will put me about 200 miles over the 10,000 miles it recommends.

My question is...is this safe at 200-300 miles over? or should I just park the car and wait until next week to drive it? Any danger in this ? Any input is appreciated?

Goonie is infamous around these parts
You can probably go to 20000 miles over and still be fine. I wouldn't recommend that though.

Smile

200 miles is nothing to worry about. Car will not blow up.

Miggy....what do I think? What do you think? Of course I would not want to drive this care if I don't have to, but there are other factors here.

Goonie, yeah I figure an additional 20k on it the oil should be fine too. Yeah, Ace... these cars blow up, it happens.

Just so you wise guys know, I had called 3 different dealers to get there opinion and received 3 different answers so I thought I could get feedback from my forum friends.....and see what there opinion was.....

In honesty, I should of tried to get this done much earlier, but my job lately has not made that possible... so I am in a situation I have never been in.

2thfxr... I appreciate your comments.

DP, 200-300 miles over the 10K period shouldnt be a problem as long as you dont go hard on it.

I have myself done a good 200 miles before even worrying taking it to the dealer, I just know to not open it up at all unless I really need to.

I wouldnt worry too much, plu he weather is nicer these days so lesser heat.

You are OK my man. Enjoy your beast.

Thanks MIA997, I appreciate it. That's what I figured and seems to be the consensus as well. BTW...love Miami lifestyle, one of my favorite places to visit.
