2012 ptt
Guys
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2012 Panamera Turbo with 35,000miles; black with Cognac/Cedar; Sport Chrono Plus, Comfort Plus, Servotronic, Sport Exhaust, Burmester, Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, 8months warranty left; price in the low $70s
While I love cars, driving and all, I am far from a mechanic and it would be very little help for me to look under the car, thus I am planning to have the local Porsche dealer to a Pre-Purchase Inspection.
Any other tips from your side on what to pay attention to, any warning flags (VIN is WP0AC2A79CL090755) ?
Or, has anyone seen a brilliant PTT for sale recently I should consider as an alternative?
Appreciate your help

I got my ptt with 2 years cpo and 6 yr extended. I would recommend getting something similar.
I dealt with a few dealers that were willing to wholesale the car from the place that had it and cpo it / unlock more warranties. Perhaps consider that?
I'd also like to see you with lower miles if possible.
All that said, if you like the options and love the car / price, you can't go too wrong.
Either way enjoy. It's a fun car

From your description, this is not being sold by a Porsche dealer I see. Without doubt, get a pre-purchase inspection from a Porsche dealer.
There are a couple of things at this mileage I would suggest you look at.
1) Tire tread left....These tires are very costly, around 350-500 per tire to replace before mounting and balancing. Make sure the tires are in good shape and you won't have to replace any time soon. Depending on how you drive, you will probably get anywhere from 7000-15000 miles on the tires.
2) Condition of the brake pads and rotors....If they are worn, they will need to be replaced. This is an extremely costly repair. In cars without PCCB, I think it will run about 4-6 thousand I heard...
3) Service history...has the car been properly maintained. These cars tend to get moody if not properly maintained, which could lead to repairs.
4) Check Carfax, and auto check for any possible history of accidents. See if the dealer will let u use his paint meter to see if their has been any paintwork, or tell him to do it and let u watch.
I have a 2012 Turbo S and love it. It is a great car that you will look forward to driving daily. As feeltherush said, it would be preferred to have a CPO car, but the CPO cars will cost you considerably more, but may be worth it.

4-6K is REALLY high for pads & rotors... even for both front & rear.

Appreciate your feedback.
I was set up to do all the things you mentioned, as it is not CPO I had the local Porsche dealer do the full 122point CPO inspection to get maximum feedback, car has 8months warranty left.
I then walked away as the dealer was just doing the typical Used Car Dealer routine: Good Cop/Bad Cop with the GM, story about 'loosing money on the car', bunch of 'service add-ons' and the typical nonsense.
I am not spending $80k on a car to be jerked around, thus i am still looking

Time to get wholesale parts or a good indy mechanic with low rates.
