Brake question

On a 2010 PTT, are there sensors in the brake pads that make a different noise when the pads get thin, vs the usual squealing of the brakes? Also, do you get a warning on the dash as well? At what percent pad life do these things occur?

All Porsches for the last many years uses brake pad sensors. You will get a warning on the dashboard when pads are around 85% worn out. You can't hear that.

My brakes did not alert but they were squeaking and when I took them to get checked they were way past their limits. Are you just getting the squeaking?

In that case - your limit sensors must have been bypassed. But you are down to only around 4-6 mm left on the pad before the warning light comes on.
