Question 2010 w/ Sport Chrono Plus - No Steering Wheel Display?

Quick observation while shopping around for a Panamera Turbo that I couldn't find the answer to on here. On only 2010 Panameras, those with the Sport Chrono Plus option got the center dash clock addition, but did not get the indicator display that is on top of the steering wheel airbag. Starting 2011, the display was added.

Any reason why the 2010 models didn't come with the display? Has anybody added a 2011+ steering wheel to a 2010 and got the display to work correctly?

I was referring to the multi-function steering wheel. Here is a picture of the 2011+ version:

I think we're talking about this steering wheel with "pdk" display:
It came with model year 2011. Don't know if retrofit is simple though.

Edit : same picture as above post ! Did not copy.

There is no need for it. It displays on the Odometer where your speeds shows up. I guess they never thought about it back in 2010. But you do get it displayed so no worries.

Anyone try retrofitting a 2011 multifunction on a 2010? Just ordered a 2011 wheel and would like the PDK trim on the wheel to illuminate “sport” “sport plus” etc. and want to know if anyone has tried/ ran into any issues

I've had a GTS for over 7 years and I think I've looked at the Sport/Sport+ indicator on the steering wheel twice. My wife, who mainly drives it, doesn't even know it's there.

I know it's nothing major, just the replacement I ordered has the indicator so might as well have it working. When I install I'll report back with the verdict,

HELP!! Replaced my steeering wheel with the chrono. In doing so I unplugged the battery. Replaced, reconnected the battery, and have 5 failures, PSM, PDCC, Chassis Failure, headlight, and start stop deactivated. The air suspension is working fine, I drove the car for about 60 miles today and they’re still on. Checked the fuses, nothing blown. Will this cycle out?

Hi,
Did you perform a steering angle sensor calibration after replacing the wheel?
This is most likely the reason for the lights on.

hey...did the display on the steering wheel work when you changed from the 2010 wheel? I'm thinking of doing the same.

So.... when i did the swap i pulled the wheel a little too hard and the clock spring came apart (like a cassette tape). The spring I replaced it with was from a 2012 PTT so not sure if that made a difference. The Sport, Sport Plus and LC showed both on the screen and on the wheel, as opposed to the 2011+ where it is just on the wheel.

Awesome thanks. I replaced the wheel with one from a 991.1 (which was identical to my 2010 PTT one). The the sports/sp lc don't show but still show on the dash. I didn't replace the clock spring though. Thanks for help, good to know you have have them displaying on both. I might ask my garage next time time to see if they can code, otherwise clock spring is the answer.

I think it looks much more modern with the PDK display.
