Panamera Turbo Mod List - add your experience

I just bought a 2014 Panamera Turbo Executive. There are a lot of threads on modifications, and hoping to put something together in one thread. I'll update this first post with information that is shared.

1) Exhaust
- I Prefer TechArt or PSE due to the integration into the factory system.
- I've read some mid-pipe changes and downpipes.
2) Agency Y Intake
- this looks interesting with no downside? I'll get the alumium one vs. carbon fiber.
3) Lowering module
- I won't be doing the Renntech lowering module, I like the different ride heights from stock.
4) ECU Reflash/OBDII Tune
- not sure if I want to touch this, but might see if Cobb Tuning offers OBII tuning so I can change easily vs. shipping out an ECU.
5) Body kits
- TechArt Grand GT possibly in the future, but the side skirts are for a short-wheel base so further modifications are needed (need to buy two and fabricate).
6) Wheels
- I really like 22" wheels on the Panamera, currently have stock OEM Turbo II wheels. I don't want to run a 25 series rear, so thinking of a square setup front and rear. Or maybe a 21" with a staggered setup. With the 20's - I don't worry about pot holes. I also wondering if someone has run 22" with a larger overall diameter without rubbing and get some decent side wall. It will most likely be over 3% difference so seeing if anyone has experience in trying this.

Anything else? Thanks.

The ECU tune can be done through the obdII port. It will out horsepower all other non-turbo upgrade Mods by more than double for less than 1/2 the price.... Talk to the guys over at Vivid racing, they do it for 1700 and will ship you a tool that plugs into your car and loads it for you... Its that easy. There is one more company that does it for less. It might be fvd. They are here on the boards. I had a local tuner write a program for mine. it really adds considerable power. worth every penny... Im not even going to bother with the rest until I mod the turbos, and that may never happen good luck

If you're interested in TechArt exhaust I may be parting with mine in the near future. Just looking for something louder.

Surprising to hear this. My techart on my Macan was very loud, then again completely different engine (V6).

2010 Panno turbo equipped with following;

VRTuned piggyback ECU box. IPD plenum, FVD 3 inch mid pipe exhaust with center resonator delete. OEM sport /flap mufflers.
Lowering links for air suspension, 22's staggered with 265-30-22 & 315-25-22.

No rubbing even in lowest ride height position.
Pot holes are an issue. In two yrs. I have only bubbled one front sidewall with slight rim bend.

I also purchased Prior Design Duck tail. Not installed yet.

Performance wise the car is scary fast under boost. I also have modded 996TT. I believe the Panno could spank it in a roll on top end run.

See pic for sidewall & ride height set up.
Good luck

RDS993 - thanks. Looks like you have exactly the mods I had in mind. Few questions,

1) FVD mid-pipe delete with PSE. How stealthy is non-sport mode and cold start up? I.e. will my wife notice? She never presses the exhaust sport button. Any drone? If my wife can notice I'm going to pass on this mod.

2) IPD plenum - that seems easy enough, looks oem and easy to install.

3) thanks for the pot hole comment. I'm going to try and fit 285/30/22 all around (square setup) with Contentinal DWS06 (560 A A) or 285/30/22 front and 335/25/22 rear Pirelli P Zero (220 AA A). That's 28.7" diameter vs 28.1" oem. So .3" more side wall, hey ever much helps right! What tire brand and model are you running and what's your feedback on them?

4) Piggy back easy to install?

Thanks in advance.

Mods

Sure no problem.

The FVD (M&M of Germany) is super stealthy, but still sounds way better than oem. It sounds like exotic V8, nice rumble at all times & even nicer with flaps open on sport mufflers.002.MOV -

FVD exhaust sound clip :https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxZaXENJw0o0Z19NMk1aaDZUM00/view?usp=sharing

FVD documented 12hp/12lb/ft torque with large diameter NON x-pipe design.

Wifey wont even notice except cold start up is an explosion/rhapsody for a few seconds.

I did IPD plenum my self in twenty minutes. Only trick part is pressing out the vacuum connection on the bottom of the oem plenum.

The VRtuned box ecu is 4 oem style plug & play connections. My shop did it in 30 mins

Great thanks. I'll have to call FVD if they have one for the executive models that are 5.9" longer. I'm assuming the midpipe is longer.

3 inch FVD catless downpipes is the way to go, at times can smell a little gassy... FVD stage 2 tune, GT3 throttle body, AP diverter valves, AP CF y-pipe (dont believe they make them anymore).

Im going to see if I can get a custom shop to make mine 3 inch all the way out, not sure if it can be done, and keep some of the stock sport exhaust componenents

I would add, what I would like to do next: 20t turbo upgrade (or bigger ) Dodson PDK and turbo S manifold, new fuel lines for 800+hp and a wrap..
