This vibration is driving me crazy!

On certain surfaces and in certain conditions, the vibration and rattle is extremely annoying - all I have to do to stop it is to place my finger over the red marked area by the sunroof panel and press. How can I make this fix a permanent one? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Well you can do it the right way and see how that panel snaps off and re install after checking the clip on the loose area or just see if you can wedge a small piece of cloth or foam etc right under that area and gently tuck it in making that area tight.

I have the exact same rattle. I haven't done anything about it yet.

Well it looks to be a common problem w/o a solution - my car goes in for an oil change in a couple of weeks so I'll have my indy take a look at it. Sure would be nice to find an easy fix! It's really the only thing that's bugging me about the car. I sure love my PTT.

Go to audi and get the foam they sell . it's micro thin, a total ripoff, but works. I haven't been able to find adhesive felt that thin anywhere else.

Mine is the same, fixed it by taking the panel out, and adjusting the clips to put more tension on the panel, then click it back in

I followed your instructions and did the same (found a great YouTube video on it) and then applied the felt as recommended by RAudi Driver - many thanks to both of you.

I won't get a chance to test it for another couple of weeks but I'll be sure to report back my findings as it was such a simple fix.

Cheers!

Yep - that's the video and the procedure took all of 5 mins and I took my time so as not to break any of the connectors.

And here's a pic of the felt strip I purchased from Audi parts dept and I applied it to the front of the dome in an attempt to further tighten up the offending rattle issue.

I finally had several test drives to confirm this procedure has eliminated my annoying vibration in the sunroof lighting panel. Life is great again in the Panny.
