overfill fuel tank problem?

hey all, im fueling up to the max today to have the car put away for winter storage...while i was fueling right near the end of the filling the fuel pump clicked off. i then proceeded to continue to fill up for another aprox. $1.50 of gas (about 1L). I then drove for 10 minutes.

My understanding is when the pump clicks off that means my tank is full? me continuing to fill for another 1L is that a problem on the Panameras or does porsche have a backup system to prevent problems if you slightly overfill? I did drive for 10 minutes after fueling up and no warning lights came on or anything. On the fuel gauge on the display its showing a full tank of gas.

I am about to store the vehicle for the winter so i just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks all.

If you overfill the fuel tank you will run the risk of fuel being in contact with seals that are on the access door to the tank. Some porsches had issues with seals failing and you would smell gas in cabin until seals changed.
Once gas clicks, top up to the nearest dollar and leave it be. Or just dont top up and leave as is. 1.50 is about half gallon extra (well, in those states that dont rip off their residents). This also affects the vent lines for tank.
If you do it once, not a big issue. You drove it for 10 minutes so should be just fine. you will have no lights come on, etc. unless you have failing seal at gas cap.
IMO, you are perfectly fine. Store it at my house, I 'will take care of it' for you.

i think its the first time i continued filling a few bucks worth of gas after the pump clicked since ive had the car (for 2 yrs). i just was wondering if i should let the car idle to consume the excess gas before i store it for the winter or just let it be?

thanks for the info.
