Just purchased a 2016 Panamera Turbo S and loving it so far. Curious.... Why didn't Porsche put the same 295 tires on the front to match the back so that the wheel well is filled up? My 2016 Cayenne GTS had 295's all the way around from the factory. I understand this is a AWD vehicle and the tire height needs to be the same. Thoughts? Can I change it? Thanks for the help.

 

You can change it but the Panamera's has it's traction calculated to the staggered sizes.

For example, rear 295/35/20 has a diameter of 28.1" and circumference of 88.3"
where the fronts are 255/40/20 has a diameter of 28" and circumference of 88"
Not sure what the tolerance is for Panamera to think it's slipping, it can be .1" .2"....it can be more, who knows. The further you are off to this ratio from the front to rear, the more it will confuse its calculations. I believe the Panamera is biased to the rear when it comes to power delivery, but it sends the power to the front wheels at launch and acceleration to help the rear achieve traction.

I think you may be able to push the wheels out with spacers instead, it fills the wheel wells in a different way
