Panamera base VS 4S
Hey guys! Just a girl looking for advice on a car. I went car shopping yesterday and test drove a 2018 Panamera with 16k miles. I am in love! I’m supposed to go see a 2017 Panamera 4S with 26k miles next weekend. The price difference is 5k more for the 4S. I’m thinking, do I really need the speed and power of a 4S? The base feels super fast and powerful already for me and it’s newer with less miles. All my guy friends I have asked prefer the 4S since they have a bigger want for speed. It’s going to be my daily driver and my daily commute is about 10-15 miles. Should I go with the 4S since it is a ‘better car’ or do I settle with what is practical for me? Thanks in advance!!!!

hahah yes it does! The 4S will just be for bragging rights because I’m definitely not going to be racing anyone 🤣

Make sure you get your hands on the original build specs and focus on the options, which from what I notice could be more important for you. It is really easy to rack up 30K$ in options for which the original owner will hardly get any compensation in the resale price. This is really an area where it pays off to buy a used Porsche.

Dito to the above, everything is optional on a P car. You have to look at the detailed option sheet and carefully sort though used ones to find one with everything you want. If the base has enough power to keep you happy focus on options more than on power. Often times though higher powered ones will also be better optioned.

Ditto on the previous comments - take a close look at the options sheet for both cars and make sure they have what you want / need.
also - depending on the weather where you live, the 4S gives you all wheel drive
in terms of driving experience - on commutes and road trips you likely won’t notice a difference. If you ever decide you want to find a windy road and have some fun - the 4S will definitely serve your better there

yesss same. I actually passed on the base. I’m going to TRY to be patient and wait for a 4S. They seem rarely available!
