Water Pump Replacement

Water Pump Replacement
I have been chasing a "clacking" sound at idle and finally determined it was bearing play in the water pump. Removed the serpentine belt and was able to feel play in the pump bearing. No leakage or other sounds -- just an irregular "clack" at idle and low rpm. Car has 77K.
Purchased a new pump, bolts, and Porsche spec antifreeze prior to job.
Probably the easiest water pump I have ever replaced. (you do need a set of external torx sockets for pump bolts and a vacuum bleeder to refill the system)
Notes:
1. you do need to flip the valve near the coolant overflow tank to the drain position (according to the service manual)
2. loosen the 3 bolts holding the pulley to the pump before removing the serpentine belt
3. access is easy with a medium length extension
4. use a vacuum bleeder to fill the system after draining makes it easy - no air pockets or issues detected (I did take the opportunity to mostly drain the system of antifreeze and replace with new)
5. These are low torque bolts! Pump bolts 9ft-lbs. Pulley bolts. 17ft-lbs.
6. During air bubble purge step. put HVAC on max temp with low fan speed & car in "Sport" mode (according to service manual)
Noise is gone and since this car is often used for long trips --- less concern about pump failing on the road (since I had a warning sound).
