Panamera OBD scanner, all services rest (model 971) 2018 and newer Porsche cars
Hopefully this could be of any help to those who are looking for OBD scanner, service rest tools. I have 2018 Panamera 4, I bought iCarSoft POR.2.0 and spent $270, just to find out that it is not compatible with (model 971) of newer Panamera, it works fine with older Panamera models (model 970) up to 2017. Therefore, I spent the last few days exploring what are the options we could have for newer model 971. I looked at many posts and explored many websites. This turned to be the only options we may have either:
- AUTEL MS906BT Advanced Wireless Android Diagnostic TPMS ECU Injector Coding Tool Full System Scan Tool which sell for $1200
- AUTEL MX808 MAXICHECK ALL SYTEMS & SERVICE DIAGNOSTIC TABLET USA VERSION sell for $380
- Porsche Piwis 3 Tester III Diagnostic With V39.900 & 38.200 Software Plus Lenovo T450 256G SSD I5 5200U 8GB Laptop Ready sell for $1100 or more

I just ordered a Autel MaxiTPMS ITS600. I actually sent Autel a question about it but did not get a response after 24 hours so this is sort of a gamble for what I'm trying to do, (program a spare tire TPMS sensor in a Prius which originally doesn't have one in the spare). It has limited reset capabilities as sold so I'm not sure it would be of interest to you, but may be something for you to consider as they sell a "PRO" extension that expands it's capabilities. On the plus side it's relatively new, on the down side the PRO extension is limited free updates to 1 or 2 years...

I have a PIWIS 3 with VXDiag MultiDiag interface. The official update software has a virus/trojan horse. VXDiagShop sent me a replacement SSD for $110 I think ($10 for shipping) and included updated PIWIS version but I am sorting out the Windows 8.1 Pro license/activation. (They included McAfee VirusScan to catch the virus). Ended up buying Windows on eBay hoping to activate it...
There is a much cheaper option @DogWood can chime in...

Thanks Jzchen. I just received an email from Autel service, they confirmed that MAXIPRO MP808, should work with Panamera 2018 and newer models. I looked at several websites it cost around $700-$800+ tax and shipping. Also they confirmed that Autel MX808, the one for $380, is not compatible with new Panamera, So the option we have so far are, Autel MX906 (~ $1200) and MP808 (~$780).
I ordered MP808 and once I receive it. I will let you know how's it.

A quick update to all who are interested in OBD scanner which could works with new Porsche Panamera 2018 and newer. I just received the AUTEL MaxiPro MP808 unit. However, unfortunately the car was not supported by this scanner. The funny thing that, the unit shows Porsche car model and was able to read the car VIN. There was only two items to choose from "odomoter support" and "Oil rest", both items did not work and I wasn't able to do any thing with this scanner. It has many more function and items for other cars but not meant for Panamera or even Porsche. In addition, the unit will need an annual subscription for $350, for updates and only the first year is free once you register it.
Just wasted time, efforts and money buying it and returning it. Now I think the only options either Autel MX906 or PIWIS 3 Tester III and both are sell for $1200+ which is expensive. I think I will give up for now.

Whatever you do I caution you about the VXDiag MultiDiag interface with PIWIS, more specifically the MultiDiag unit. I have no experience with the Porsche clone, which usually costs about $100 more. I just lost one boot option to the trojan horse and reordered another SSD replacement!
The ITS600 should arrive over the weekend, but our Panamera is a '13, so I can't tell if it will work...
Check with Foxwell if the NT510 Elite supports your year, available for $179 from Amazon seller OBDZON...

I completely understand your frustration. I have collected quite a few scanners over the years. Nothing beats the service tools the dealer actually uses but it’s so costly that there are clones. The clones aren’t without a hitch.
Recently working with Foxwell on the Toyota software for the NT510 Elite, at one point they offered to buy it back, give a $10 credit, or any thoughts on my part. They refunded me on a NT644 Pro last year, I just paid to ship it back to Georgia. They suggested the NT510 Elite, which I then bought from The Foxwell Store on Amazon. It’s paid for itself with just the Porsche software so I just recommended we continue debugging. Eventually it programmed TPMS in the Toyota just like Techstream.
I did receive the ITS600 Saturday. I proceeded to register and update the software/firmware completely. Sometimes that is the trick to get them to work as the aftermarket tool products are constantly in development it seems. Whereas the Toyota official tool and Foxwell program 4 wheels, the Autel unit can additionally program a 5th/the spare. Always pros and cons in life....

I can't disagree with your comment about scanner at Porsche dealer. I have 2016 Pan Hybrid, the hybrid session is unreliable, I have engine light on twice within a month. The cost is $$$ to fix the issue. I asked my Porsche dealer service manager how they know the precise issue and faulty components to replace. He showed me the screen shot during diagnostic with the code. My car is Out Of Warranty, but Porsche covered the 1st fix in March and latest one is 50% since i am the owner of 3 porsche. I use the poor man scanner from Durametric, it has no intelligent to diagnose the Hybrid session. LOL ...
I bring my 2018 pan4s to porsche indy shop to clear out the maintenance message for $50. Don't plan to do any any heavy works on the 2018 pan4s.

I was going to meet up with Doug to try my VXDiag MultDiag PIWIS 3 on one of his late model Porsches but life got in the way and didn't.
I checked, your location is CO, otherwise I would have offered for you to come by...

I am actually developing a new tool. I can add functions on top of my tool. Are you interested?
