Cargo Area Cover

My '16 GTS came with a retractable soft cargo cover which I keep open at all times. However, I have seen that hard cargo covers are available as well.

Does anyone own a hard cover and, if so, do you prefer it over the soft, retractable one, does it install the same way and do you know where I would be able to buy it?

Thanks

I have the hard cover and really like it. My 4S is a 2011 but I think the rear cargo area is the same as the 2016 but I’m not positive on that. I believe it would require different mounting hardware but again I don’t know that for sure. I would think you could call Suncoast Porsche parts and they might be able to tell you and possibly sell you what is needed to do the conversion.

I think the hard cargo cover is a stupid design. It must either be fully lowered or fully removed for the hatch to close. It severely limits the cargo capacity of the hatch.
It's easy enough to remove, but then you've got to leave it somewhere safe.

I'd take a roller over a fixed cover 100/100.

Yes, the retractable cover is more convenient but I think the hard cover looks better and sort of camouflages the rear storage/cargo function of that area. In the 7 years I’ve owned my 4S, the cover has rarely been an impediment to cargo storage.

I don’t get it….if you keep it open all the time why not simply remove it from your car for added versatility?

Having said that I just traded in a 2010 Panamera 4s for a custom 2021 Panamera Turbo S Executive. Both had the rigid cover, which I use almost always and really like. As was suggested you could likely purchase from Suncoast.

In my 4s it was reasonably easy to remove if needed….far more difficult in my Turbo S.
