FEB. 7th LA meet
#212
Arling did a really great job hosting the Feb. 7th LA meet. A caravan of that many cars is difficult to keep together, especially in traffic. We were the first to arrive at the old Ikea store in Hacienda Heights and soon other Porsches were pulling up beside us. At 8:00 am we all left in unison for Arling's place. When we arrived, Porsches were being shoe-horned into parking spaces. Arling had a continental breakfast set up for us and everyone enjoyed meeting each other and comparing cars. The day was gorgeous and the camaraderie with Porsches unique. This had to be one of the most eye-popping collections of late model Porsches, even the 959 which graced our presence, looked like it belonged there. With the traffic slowing us through the beach cities, we drew a lot of looks. As we pulled into the rest stop in Palos Verdes, a hang-glider showed off for us by circling over the ocean and then dipping down near the cliffs, but seemed to be in control as he safely landed. Believe I'll stick with Porsches. The last stop was Pacific Porsche on PCH where we enjoyed a simply wonderful lunch of lasagna with all the fixin's. Many thanks to Arling for putting all of this together. We are looking forward to the next chapter. Geri Boothe
