Concorso Italiano - Our own 6speedonline parking area!

I spoke to Frank Mandarano today, organizer of the Concorso Italiano. This year the event will be held on Friday August 13th, at the Black Horse Facility in Monterey Bay.

After a "brief" negotiation, Frank is going to allow 6SpeedOnline our very own parking area within the corral area. We will be allowed to have our own banner as well.

Here is the sign up link for the event. Concorso

I recommend that you not wait too long to sign up. Last year the Buffet luncheon that they serve sold out a few months before the event - and it would be great to get an idea of how many cars will be in attendance as well. This way we can assure that our Corral area is large enough.

If you have any specific questions for signing up, you can call Kelly at Concorso - (206)-232-0365.

Last year the Concorso was great. This year it will be even better

You can email me directly if you need help. RedlineRobert

So let the sign up sheet begin :

RedlineRobert 2003 Techart C4S
Kevin M. 1999 Cab
dpblessing 2002 C4S
No-Turn-Tech 1996 Turbo
samel00 2003 C4S

I added my name to the list. This is going to be a great event. Is there a tally being taken?

Concorso

I have signed up for the Corral before you sent this out. Do I need to move my name to your list or could I join you guys up there?
This is a great event and I have gone up last couple of years. Thank.

General Information...
When you sign up, either online of via fax, there is (supposed to be) an area where you can list your club affiliation... put 6SpeedOnLine in there and they can keep track. (It also does not hurt to let RedLineRobert know via this thread so he can add you to the list he has started.
If you have previously signed up for the general Porsche corral and want to move to the 6SpeedOnLine corral you should call Concorso directly (tel # in Roberts post) and ask them to do that so everyone is sure there is adequate space in the 6Speed corral - otherwise you might be left outside with your nose pressed up a against the glass wishing you were on the inside with all the cool guys

Thumbs down Why reward a poor performance

I have been going to this event for many years. Last year they moved it from Quail Lodge to Black Horse. It was by far the worst production they have ever presented. Getting there, parking, restrooms and the show in general was very poor. This was not like past events which were very good. To top it off after what they presented last year, they had the nerve to increase prices about 33%.

Sorry, I won't be attending this year.

Chad,

Situations that you are reffering to have been addressed for the upcoming event. If you didn't receive the email that was sent out after last year's event, they will make sure that this year's event is organized in much better fashion.

Hope you change your mind and join us.

Robert,

I really enjoyed the event up to last year. You can't compare an x-army base with the Quail Lodge. Many of the truely great cars from prior years did not show. To make matters worst, the service across the board was akind to where the event was being held. It didn't have to be that way. They could have at least strived to make the service better than prior years. Unfortunately, it went down hill. When you pay those type of prices it better be first class and there is no place to be nickel and dimed after you paid the high price of admission. Honestly, overflowing outhouses and I don't mean with people was the last straw.

Frank Mandarano owes something to all the people who attended last years event. Raising prices for the corral 33% isn't the way to make amends. When I looked at their website there was only fourteen cars registered for the Porsche Coral. All the other car coral's appeared to way off in participants also. It doesn't appear I'm the only one who feels the way I do.

Chad,

I agree with you on the location. Last year was the first Concorso I attended and not having a previous Concorso to compare it to, I had a great time - not to mention that I met some great people!

I'm sorry I won't see you there. Again I hope you change your mind.

Robert,

I was one of the people who pushed the CI on 6Speed. I couldn't say enough good things about them based on prior years. I truely hope things turn around and improve. If they do I would definitely return at a later year.
