However, some guys there are debating that the M5 may not be "exotic" enough.
Should I tell these M5 boys don't bother showing despite the good cause?

Not up to me since I am not organizing this but an M5 is not an exotic at all. Sick car, but no exotic.
Exotic=over 100K, limited numbers, head turner, had poster on wall as a kid, etc.
Z8 may kind of qualify but not M5. With that said, I don't care who shows up but following the organizers instructions an M5 is out?!?

Please explain what situations are you avoiding if you posted this charity event in a public forum.

Your description just eliminated half the attendees.
And for clarification, the question was not whether the M5 was an exotic. It was if it was "exotic" enough for the charity event.

You and another member mistook it as if the inquiry was about whether or not the M5 should be considered an exotic. Mind you I never took the position the M5 is an exotic for that matter. Hence the reason for the inquiry in the first place.
And for what's good, well, one of the M5 events had a 95 car turnout, so you do the math at a $100 donation.
