I spent the day on Saturday slowly pulling the calipers/rotors off of the 996TT so that I can ship them off to be rebuilt/painted before the race season starts. The calipers have never been off the car & after 24,XXX on the car, they were starting to show their age. I am leaning towards painting them a PCCB yellow color, but am open to ideas.
Anyone want to share their custom colors that they have gone with.

 

With that beautiful color I'd say yellow would look pretty sweet. Plus it will go with your coilovers.

Hey thanks man! I was lucky and mine were done when I got them. The script said Brumos. I think the previous owner may have been part of that dealership. Anyways, I redid them with proper Porsche script. Seems I have seen them for $250 each for a full rebuild with new color. I can't remember where though. I will try to find that site for you ��

I think it would be a pretty easy DIY project. You've done the hard stuff, removing everything and taking ALL those pictures, lol. Remove the pads, pop out the pistons and dust shields. A good PC'er should be able to remove the existing PC and do them the color of your choice for $20-$50 each. I've done a lot of PC on parts over the years, picking up some and dropping off more tomorrow. You may get hit with "Porsche" tax if they know what it is.

I'd entertain a chartreuse green like your air hose. A couple of 918 had them and it would look good and upscale with your blue car. I'd paint your faded hats too, or just have them PCd too, sliver or gloss black.

I want to mirror polish a set.

 

I did mine powder coated a while ago when I upgraded from the 330mm rotors to the 350mm rotors. What a difference.

Clear it real good if you polish them! I once made the mistake of polishing a ton of aluminum parts in an engine bay, spent tons of time after keeping it clean too! Brake dust an dwater spots would drive me crazy on something like that. They're painted from the factory and supposedly powder coat can cause them to retain more heat but I'll have mine done when it's time for sure.
