Clear it real good if you polish them! I once made the mistake of polishing a ton of aluminum parts in an engine bay, spent tons of time after keeping it clean too! Brake dust an dwater spots would drive me crazy on something like that. They're painted from the factory and supposedly powder coat can cause them to retain more heat but I'll have mine done when it's time for sure.
thats nothing compared to this set i had done for my amg! less than 1 week i knew i must have been hit on the head for choosing that color! looked awesome on the car but what a nitemare to keep clean! changed them to gol;d and was much better to maintain
I sent them to John Hayworth Racing to have them stripped, rebuilt & painted any color under the sun. As I said earlier, really like the Porsche yellow. He guessed about $180/caliper for the work, which I thought was fair. No time to do it & it's colder than a brass monkeys ***** right now so I can't paint outside.
Got the calipers back from John Hayworth yesterday & they look great. Can't wait to put the car back together this week. Should be a huge improvement in the looks department with the new color/rebuild.
Looks great! I need to have a set re-done as well. Was that price just for stripping/refinishing or did that include the rebuild kit as well? Is that the epoxy-type paint?
I am about to do a caliper-off cosmetic refurb (prob add SS braided lines while I'm at it). Question - simple fitting to close off the brake line and prevent fluid loss? I thought I've seen it, but can't find the thread. Thank you.

So I have a dumb question. I reinstalled the front caliper last night and worked on the rear caliper (12:30am & cross eyed). I can't seem to figure out how the bracket reattaches to the caliper. I've rotated it a couple ways & im sure it's something simple but I don't see where the 6mm hex nut/bracket support will reattach. Any help guys.

see the hole on the caliper side down low? thats the mounting hole. i bet your looking at how to get the hole on the side of the bracket to line up instead
