Best bet is to sell your .1 and buy a .2

Otherwise you're looking at replacing the entire bumper assembly and the rear tailgate. I can't begin to imagine how much that will cost - but it won't be cost effective. It also isn't clear the wiring is the same, or the programming to the body-control module that works the lights and other bits in the rear-hatch is the same, so you may run into additional problems.

IMHO - If he's going to trade in for a new model version, wait for the next Gen 3 95X with the far nicer long horizontal Macan style taillights! It makes the Cayenne look lower, longer & leaner!

Cheers!

It actually looks almost identical to a Lincoln I saw yesterday..

Hmmm... switched at birth? Lincoln got really creative - they flipped the light over.

BTW - the Lincoln starts at $32k.. (optioned up I got it to $47k)..

BUT WAIT - they got the lights right in:

Hmmm... Continental. Apparently Bentley's head of design "Luc Donckerwolke, asked David Woodhouse, Lincoln’s head designer, via Facebook, “Do you want us to send the product tooling?”" (Car and Driver article.)

Don, the Lincoln also has a "big B*tt look" with the panels, which seems to be a common problem with the design themes of their SUVs/CUVs!

At least the Cay S-3 has a sleeker look from all angles IMHO.

I tend to look at the styling more critically & in more detail, having initially intended to go into Automotive Design & accepted to Art Center back in 1970, but decided I didn't want to spend decades designing just the armrests at GM, which was more typical for designers back then. Not many made the top then.

Depending upon when Porsche releases the Cayenne S3 exactly, it will have only taken them 2 decades to get the styling right, whereas IMHO they hit it dead-on sweet with the Macan from day 1!

As for the price difference - agreed, but Lincoln has even more QC problems than the Cayenne, based on the real reviews & ratings by anyone but JD Power (i.e.: those by CR, etc.), which is nothing much more than a PR agency for the auto makers anymore IMHO.

I'm sure that Lincoln had their spies looking in on Stuttgart, & visa versa!

I want to see the end result. Looks feasible.

I'd never do it as my 2011 is just that, a 2011 but more power to those who want the facelift
