Seat Belt Replacement

Seat Belt Replacement
The seat rectractor for my V8 Vantage is malfunctioning. The seat belt for the passenger side is stuck in the fully pulled position and the usual reset instructions aren't working. So I've got two questions: first, I know that a lot of more general AM parts come from Volvo or possibly Ford. Given that it's fully pulled, I suspect that I'll need to replace it. Second, how can I get to the retractor so that I can replace it? It's a 2013 convertible.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear the seatbelt retractor/tensioner is sold separately from the entire seatbelt assembly. I think your part # will be either 6G33-611B68-ABW (charcoal belt) or 6G33-611B68-BBW (flint belt) for a RH side LHD car. It's not a cheap part
You can find the retractors on eBay for about $300, and there's also workshops that will fix those if you send it in, if you search for " Aston Martin Seat Belt Repair Pretensioner Rebuild " you'll find services online that will do it.
As for getting to the part, hopefully this can help:

Thanks UltraMarine et al- good tips and advice as always....NOT tryin to hijack the the thread but I am coming up against a "Brick Wall" re: trying to locate a virgin (i.e. never programmed) Crystal key for my 2010 V8V, along with the 8 digit "tab" or code. Dealer wants 2700 dollars for blank and 315 to program it. Parts man sez that only virgin blanks will do as one programmed, they are UNable to be reprogrammed.
Does that sound right to you all? Or he just spouting off AM propaganda to sell a 3K part? EBay searching is of little use unless the verbiage is exactly right.
TIA!

If you can source a decent non-virgin Crystal key then I wouldn't discount it as you can replace the electronics reasonably cheaply by sourcing a new Volvo fob with codes and swapping the innards over.
My Virage came with 2 Crystal keys but one didn't start the car so I did just that and also bought a Thinkdiag to program it. I did have another working fob though so was able to teach the new one to start the car by inserting the other two and starting the car, one after the other, then the new one.
