Sportshift gearbox oil change

Hello all, my English isn't the best and i'm lookin at old threads about the transmission oil and now i'm even more confused.

I have a 2008 Vantage Sportshift 1 and a friend of mine, a retired mechanic, is going to do the service. He has done the standard engine oil and filters change, bypass filters and air filters in the past, so no problems there.

However, the gear oil has to be changed as well, and this is where i'm confused:

An old thread said that there are 2 seperate systems: the ASM oil and the transaxle oil. The ASM can't be changed without having access to AMDS, but the transaxle oil shouldn't be a problem. Is this correct?

My second question is: which is the one that should be changed every 4 years? Is it the Transaxle oil (castrol BTO) or the sportshift oil (Pentosin CHF 11S)? Or should they be changed both every 4 years? Someone in that old thread suggested that only 1 needed to be changed every 4 years and the other one shouldn't be changed because the clutch wears out before the fluid can build up too much humidity.

TLDR: which is the oil that should be changed ideally every 4 years: the castrol BTO 270A or the Pentosin CHF 11S

Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

If i'm not mistaken, this is the transaxle oil. Is this the one that is the DIY? I mean, this can be done without having access to a AMDS?

they are all DIY. the hydraulic fluid is a little more involved but can be done without AMDS for your model year (there is a recent thread where someone just did it https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...leeding-2.html). the BOT270A is as easy as it gets. see the Redpants instructions or video. you need the socket and allen socket for 1/2" drive and a pump
