Ticketed for no front plate and tinted windows
Long story short, I got pulled over by CHP on my way home from school.
I gt ticketed for no front plate and tinted windows. On the back part of the ticket, there is a box for officer to sign off. He wrote "NO SIGN OFF" on the box.
At first I was like whatever, but little did I know a few weeks later I received a mail from the court with bail amount of $321. F@%$ing insane. Daylight robbery. Never have I heard or seen someone getting such a fine for minor violations.
Is there anyway I could reduce this amount??
Can I plead not guilty?

On a side note, we have seen quite a few customers coming in for tint removal. Most of them have the non-fixable box checked, which means a fine is imposed automatically. Go with a lighter shade to reduce the risk of having this occur again. If you do not get it fixed or go with a lighter shade, you can easily get another ticket.
Below is a link to our newest nano-technology tint - Diamond Cut IR, which blocks off 94% of infrared rays even if you go as light as 73% VLT (visible light transmission) - https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-tint-bra.html

Just curious what % did you have on the front windows?

the officer has discretion to decide whether or not to make it a correctable offense or just a straight up fine. I personally have never heard of them choosing the latter. And like all citations you are innocent until proven guilty so to answer your question yes you can go to court and plead not guilty although when the officer shows up I have no idea what your possible defense could be. Try fighting it via written declaration first, better chance of them not responding; although it was CHP.

I have 17% in my front windows. I know it is illegal but the I thought the fine is gonna be around $150 max.

Probably the biggest portion of the fine was for the tinited windows. About 6-9 months ago my dad got ticketed for not having a front plate by LAX PD and it was only $25. It was just pay the fine, nothing else.
Hope you get this fine reduced.

I have gotten a non-correctable tint ticket which is rare and carries the highest fine of tint tickets, but my was only $175, which I thought was a lot, plus the $25 correctable plate ticket I got. Your fine sounds ridiculously high, maybe they raised the fine considerably?? As you can see from my sig, I pulled the tint off anyway, but I may get that new Diamond Cut tint just to cut the UV down.

That is correct. 70% VLT is light. Here is a sample of what 63% looks like with our Diamond Cut line.
