Panera Bread Co. in Cary 8-23-08
Hey, Matt. I think we saw you this morning. Did you pull into Inside-Out Sports and then follow a black 996 with an aero kit on Cary Parkway? If so, that was me, and I was just leaving this morning's get together. Here are some pictures.
Not pictured are: A beautiful red GT3, a beautiful red Boxster, and Ahmet's track-ready M3.
BTW, you don't have to get there right at 7:30 - feel free to sleep in a little . We have folks arriving anytime before about 10:30am. I get out there early b/c I have to squeeze in as much Porsche time as possible before moving into family time.

This Saturday, I propose that we meet at the place Ken suggested:
"Wake Zone" coffee shop:
6108 Old Jenks Road
Apex, NC 27523
Corner of Davis Drive & Old Jenks Rd
I've spoken to the proprietor who said he would like to have us there.
I'll get there bright and early at 7:30 - show up whenever you can.
I look forward to seeing you there!

Cary/Apex Saturday Coffee and Porsches
Hey, Bruce. I didn't know anyone was reading this forum - I really can't tell. But, it was great to see you at the Wake Zone this morning. Here's a quick recap of the day:
It was great to see everyone this morning. We had a great gathering - including a new Porsche owner: George and his daughter Katie ('01 996 Cab). We also had Ken, Bruce, Martin, Dell, Rich, Michael, Alex, Charles, John and yours truly. After some great coffee, and a great conversation at the Wake Zone, we headed off to drive around Jordan Lake. The weather couldn't have been better and the drive was outstanding - 8 Porsches. Thanks for a great morning everyone. The link to my photos of the morning's activities is below.
I hate to miss even one Saturday with such a great group of people. But, I hope you all will get together and post photos. I'll be back the following Saturday.
For future planning:
- Michael mentioned that next weekend is Octoberfest - some of the group may want to check it out
- Dell proposed driving to VIR one of these mornings
- I'd like to have the group over to my house for a lunch or dinner cookout
- George suggested a drive out to Pittsboro's country roads - I've seen them; they're beautiful
- We talked about a tech session with Jeff Schiff to clear out our front bumpers and oil coolers
- I'm serious about November DE at VIR with Dell. Who else is interested?
OK - that should give us plenty to talk about when I return.
Enjoy!

Hey there - it's me broadcasting from the least read thread on 6speed (formerly known as "the popular thread for Cary/Apex".
Here's some information regarding tomorrow's events in our area:
The plan is to meet at Brier Creek between 8:30 and 9:30AM. After checking out the Italian cars, we will promptly leave at 9:30AM to Roxboro, NC through Hwy 70 & 57.
- The drive will continue past Roxboro to Kentuck, VA where we will be doing a loop through Turbeville, Cluster Springs, Bethel Hill, to return back to Roxboro.
- That will put us back in Roxboro around 1PM to have lunch at Hog Heaven BBQ. Those who do not want to stop for lunch can continue on 57 back to Raleigh/Durham.
- After lunch, we will drive back on Hwy 57 to be in the Raleigh / Durham area around 3PM.
- The route is about 160 miles round trip so 1 full tank of gas will certainly be plenty.
- If you have an RFS radio, bring it. We will be using channel 11.
Hope you can join us for some great Porsche time.

For anyone not attending the autocross tomorrow, I'll be at the Wake Zone from 7:30 to 9:00ish - then it's family road trip time!
Also, I bought a pyrotech helmet tonight. Getting ready for November DE.
Next, it's time for a tech inspection with Matt at Peak Automotive.

Hi, Charles,
I chose Pyrotech because it was the only $250 helmet I could find in flat black - sad, I know. Also, there are adjustable vents on the top of the helmet I purchased - I figured that would be helpful. I didn't see anything like that on the other helmets.
There are several choices in the price range that seemed very similar. Also, Randy just bought a Pyrotech, so I felt that was a good endorsement.
BTW, here's a link to some photos from our meeting on Saturday.
