Charlotte Metro P Cars
#18
I'd come to a meet, but I only have a lowly Subaru. I have been a Porsche fanatic ever since I have been a kid though...
There used to be a black on black 993 Turbo in Charlotte...he had black wheels and black windows - I think it was the best looking car in Charlotte, but I haven't seen that car in years.
There is someone who has a 996 with the Senna sticker on the back window, I see that car every year at the Lowes Motor Speedway car show...it is a sweet looking car.

If you're not limiting the group to just 996 owners, I would suggest posting to rennlist and Porsche Pete's Boxster Board (ppbb.com). Also, I find that Rennlist's 924/944/951/968 forum is extremely active. I'd try to get some of those guys to participate. So far, I've had some interest in the Cary/Apex area, but no luck with anyone attending yet. I'm sure they'll be there in the future.
Cayman owners and Cayenne owners are little more elusive, and I'm guessing the older air-cooled 911 owners are attending the traditional PCA events. Haven't figured out how best to reach them yet.
Now that you've given your support for our Cary/Apex gathering, I'm all about supporting yours. I absolutely will make the time to join you guys one weekend with anyone from my group who is interested!
Keep posting with your progress.

Hey, why don't you guys email me a map of the back roads you would take to get to South Park area?
Maybe we could meet closer to SP and then drive up towards you guys and meet.
Bob had mentioned he would like to meet sometime halfway.

By looking at the map of NC, Pinehurst might be a good compromise place to meet.....it's a great little town but has Starbucks, Panara's and a neat deli
in old Pinehurst Village with Pecan pie to die for......and great country back roads for Charlotte and the Raleigh area to drive.......

Next Saturday, what's your choice?

I mapped out a really twistie route last night that would make the ride about 2.5 hours from the Charlotte area. That would make a great day trip and I am up (or as some members here post, "down") with that.
So, it looks like two options and I am open to either this Saturday, May 3rd:
1. Meeting Monroe and make a run out to Pinehurst. Involves meeting/greeting/leaving by 9, spending a couple of hours in the village and returning.
2. Meet/greet/and shorter drive on some back roads around the Metro area.
OK............what do you think?

As June approaches..................
the weather gets warm and kids begin to get out of school for the summer.
Anyone interested in putting a trip together in the next few weeks??
The Dragon?
Run to the Beach?
Pinehurst?
More local?

The Myrtle Beach portion of the Hurricane region PCA has been talking about a get together down there (MB)in the next few weeks IIRC. They originally talked about an overnight thing, but not sure what stage any of the plans are in. Might be a good opportunity for a drive for you guys and we could all meet in Myrtle.
