When getting ready to leave at 10:15, I could see rain here on the south shore! By 10:30 I had rain on me here in NOLA so I decided to stay home. Hope we can try this again another weekend!
NOLA911, sorry to hear about everything, you did a great job of pulling all of this together, Hope someone took pictures!

Due to the impending weather, the route changed mid-journey from a trip to LaPlace to a lap around Mandeville - Madisonville - Hammond - Amite - Folsom - then into Covington (Hwy 190, I-12, I-55, Hwy 25, Hwy 190 )and we stopped to eat at Zea's. I'll post some pics, however, they are all from my phone so the res isn't as good as it could have been. Most of us kept a brisk pace with a few guys attempting to hit hyperspace. Overall a great time and good roads. I'm in for the next one!

So we got seperated from the group. You guys went north on 55... we went south (we didn't know about the change in plans).
BMW M3 - Bryan was getting picked on by some hill-billies so we trape them in and let Bryan pass... then ran up to catch you guys... we passed Allen in the 996 Turbo and continued following Bryan... This is where we lost you guys.
Soon after Bryan ghosted us. We stopped on the side of 55 thinking you guys messed up going north... then we tried to find find Frenier Landing... may we note... its not down Frenier Road, nor is it in the ghettos of LaPlace (Dottie Road). Gorge in the NSX found us at the gas station on Dottie Road and continued on. After about 2 hours of driving lost with Allen we made a trip to Midendorfs (sp)... nothing... just as Jess calls us with the correct location of Feriner Landing.
Guess who was at Frenier, which is down Pevine Road... Bryan and Gorge.
We ate lunch... BS for a few and eventually went our own ways.
Overall... it was great starting out... confusing in the middle with some agrivation inspired runs, and Great hanging out with the few of you we found.
See you guys at Hooters next Sunday... its on Vets... dont get lost!!

I was following the Aston and Lamborghinis. Wondered about the north turn...but took it anyway since I was following. The insane speeds started there...deep triple digits for some! Found out at a stop in Amite that the North vs. South decision was weather related. 7 of us stayed together for the rest of the run. Would love to try and put together a poker run type of rally in the future if anyone is interested. Overall, the other traffic was well behaved and realized we were all together so there were no issues in that respect.

Didn't get to meet most of you guys but fun run anyway. Sometime in Sept or October, Jon Scheurich who is the one of the Porsche managers at the dealership on Vets would like to host a C&C event. Maybe he'll let us take some of the Smart cars for a run to the lakefront .
