Houston Performance Driving (HPD) invites you to Midnight 1320: Street King @ Lonestar Motorsports Park. The event will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008. Come check out Houston's fastest street/track cars battle in out in a "street racing style" rumble! The last 1200:1320 was major success with +120 racers and +600 spectators. The temperatures are down and that cold air is perfect for some 1/4 mile racing! LET'S GET IT ON HOUSTON!


I. Mission Statement:

- There has been a massive amount of attention and criticism of the street scene here in Houston. Street racing has caused many injuries and even deaths in H-Town. It's now time to stop this behavior and take it to the track. Houston Performance Driving is stepping up to the plate with John Hessnessy to educated newbs and old cats a like on good old fashion 1/4m drag racing.

- Give the track a chance! If you are a street racer...it's guaranteed that if you give the track a chance. You will feel that rush you get, however in a controlled environment , safe, ticket-free racing. YOU WILL GET HOOKED ON TRACK!

- Houston Performance Drivings mission is to bring all the race crews, independents, and shops together for a different kind of track night* with a street racing theme. Please understand that HPD is NOT* a car club! It is simply a forum where people with a passion for performance driving can go to find out what activities are happening in their area.

- This event is open to anyone and everyone! From the 9 sec trailer queens to the 14 sec Yahoos. There should be a great mix of cars and trucks. Such as Vipers, C5, C6s, Z06s, Z28s, SSs, Mustangs, Saleens, Cobras, T/As, Lightnings, SRT 4s, 6s, 8s, 10s, P-Cars, M3s, M5s, M6s, Mercedes AMGs, WRXs, STIs, EVOs, Supras, 350 Zs, G35/37s, Old School muscle, custom Hondas, Imports and Domestics! 100% open to anyone who enjoys the street racing lifestyle. Join us!

II. 1200:1320 Outline:

- When: November 22nd, 2008 (Saturday)
- Time: Gates open @ 5PM! Test and tune from 6PM-8PM. Street King starts @ 8:30PM - Midnight to 1AM.
- Where: Lonestar Motorsports Park in Sealy, TX.
- How much: $30 to race and $15 to spectate.
- Who: The heavy hitters of the Houston area.
- Why: Do racing ticket-free! Also to show people that the track is the place to be!
- How: It's the pedal on the right!

III. 1200:1320 - Street King*

ALL RACERS ATTENTION!!! CLASS INFO!

- Street King Qualifications: Street Tire Class!

1) Street Tires *ONLY*. - Tires will be inspected when you tech in. NO drag radials.
2) Must be driven to the track.
3) Full Interior - No gutted rides allowed! Racers must have working dash, front seats (if no back seats, must be carpeted), working head lights, signals, and wipers. RADIOS and A/C are not required!

- Street King Qualifications: Drag Radial Class!
1) Drag Radial Tires *ONLY*. - Tires will be inspected when you tech in.
2) Must be driven to the track.
3) Full Interior - No gutted rides allowed! All Street King racers must have working dash, front seats (if no back seats, must be carpeted), working head lights, signals, and wipers. RADIOS and A/C are not required!

- Track King Qualifications: Unlimited Class!

1) There are NONE! Unlimited!
2) Trailers are allowed for the unlimited class racers.

- Terms of Service: I agree that the HPD Staff will have all say in the rules and regulations governing the Midnight 1320: Street/Track King Event. I understand all rules and qualifications for my run class. (See Street King requirements - see Track King (Unlimited*) requirements.)

- Street King Winners!

1) Best time of the night after test and tune will determine who the Street Kings will be. Make sure to turn in your time slips the score keeper Troy Dixon (HPD Staff).
2) There will be a a 1st place trophy for all three classes. Runner-ups will receive a Free HPD T-Shirt and HPD sticker.
3) Remember this is just for FUN!!!
4) Please stay close to the staging area. Racers can check on their or competitors times with the HPD score keeper in the staging area.
5) Awards will be passed out @ Midnight to the Street Kings!

IV. Teching in:

- When you Tech-In please tell your tech what class you are entering. He will check your tires and inspect your ride to double check you are eligible for that class.

- Each class will have it's own code on the window. Example: Street Tire Class = ST*. Drag radials = DR* Unlimited = U*.

- All three classes will be running at the same time.

- Pro-Tree Setup!

V. The Grudge Match!

- Adding to the flavor of 1200:1320 there will be a $5000 grudge match between 2 heavy hitters. Pinks aint got nothing on Midnight 1320! Come see how the BIG BOYS handle their business!

VI. Sponsorship Opportunities @ 1200:1320!

- Sponsorships are available for this track event.

- $100 gets you on the Sponsor Banner that will be hung on the gate of staging area.

- Your company logo and info will be placed into all HPD Midnight 1320 threads.

- Verbal plug-ins on the PA system at LMP.

- 1 Free HPD T-Shirt.

- 1 Free HPD sticker.

VII. Media Coverage:

- HPD Media Team will be filming.

- Row Boat Productions will be on site.

Things are really getting heated up! The $5000 grudge match will be something not to miss! The race will be between 2 Jeep SRT8s. One will be from out of state and the other will be someone most of you know. John Hennessey the Viper tuner.....crack open a Road and Track and you'll see. Best 3 out of 5 wins 5K in cash!

UPDATE!

Wanted to let everyone know that the 5K grudge match between the SRT8 Jeeps is 86'd. The Jeep coming from Maryland is having techincal issues and will not be making the trip down to Houston. Hope this does not stop you from coming out to Midnight 1320: Street King. There are still planety of grudge matches going down between Power City rivals.
You don't want to miss this!

 

There will be race fuel available at the VP Shack by the staging lanes. There will be a LMP Staff Member manning the fuel station. Pull up and fill up!
- C16 @ $14.00 per gallon.
- 109 @ $11.00 per gallon.
- 110 @ $10.00 per gallon.
If anyone pulls up to the VP Station and there is no one working the pump. COME FIND TROY or GARETT and we will take care of it.

I am thinking of comming and getting some 60-130 times (will bring a drift box).

How long has that C 16 been sitting in the barrell?

For $14 I hope not long

 

Also,

In the event I want to go for a 1/4 time, will there be a dry box for us rear engine guys who don't want to break our axels doing a burnout?

In any case, this event was a lot of fun just to watch the last time I went.
