Recommended AWD Dyno in Houston?
I need to do before/after dyno pulls on my 2001 996TT, and I am looking for a shop in Houston with experience dyno-ing AWD Porsches. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Not sure about Porsches on a regular basis, but Engine Logics (EL) has a very nice dyno. I have had my Subaru Forester on it many times. They use a Dyno Dynamics and it reads about the same as the Mustang dyno that MZM uses in Austin. I'll be taking my cayenne TT to EL soon to baseline mine.

It's an AWD dyno (4 rollers) at EL so there's no need to disconnect anything. Here's a link to the type dyno they have:

The only dyno that will not harm your front diff is a Mustang.. The new Superflow dyno has a direct drive coupling. Porsche requires that the front drive roller be mechanically coupled. So if you care about your front diff and/or your drive shaft/stub axles run it on a Mustang.

Axis Racing uses a Dyno Dynamics dyno with Porsches. So does Farnbacher Loles : http://www.farnbacherloles.com/perfo.../info/?id=2946 who specializes in Porsches. So I'm inclined not to agree that the Mustang dyno is the only one. Besides that all AWD Subaru WRX and Foresters are viscous coupled and there have been zero issues with those on this dyno either - I have about 100+ runs on mine over the last 3 years with no issues.

You have done a hundred plus dyno runs? Not sure why you would want to dyno a stock CTT or even a modified Suby so many times.
Farnbacherloles...they have been specializing in Porsches for a whole 3 years. What have they produced? My tuner is just a little old Hillbilly in Arkansas.

If not dynoed correctly you will burn up the diff. I know this for a fact,a friend of mine burned his up at Turbocharger.com on 290.Luckly Porsche covered it(8000.00)
The Head, I think you should take that smart talking Dr Jitsu out on the street & teach him a lesson.

Turbochargers.com has more than a few horror stories. I think the best one was them using the sway bars as a tie-down point.
Yes, I hear nothing but good things from the folks at Protomotive (a guess on the "hillbilly").
Please - is that the best he can come up with? Hey no problems here with taking jabs. It always comes with being the "noob" on forums.
