Texas Mile - March
#17
But I am hoping to have another " fun " car soon... soon enough for the Mile I hope.
YOUR car on the other hand SOUNDS great! I am thinking you need some Hoosiers to hook up!
More to follow...

hey guys i am planning on running the event on my bike and i have a few questions
how can i hook up the lanyard (kill switch) without harming my wiring harness and where can i get the switch assy
also if i am on a 1000 cc bike how important is the start ? do you have to nail the start like on the 1/4 mile or is the mile run long enough that you can get to top speed anyway without a "dragsrtip" start ?
thanks

1. I had mine installed at the local shop. It was a pin switch from the kill switch on the handlebar. Less than $120. installed. http://www.mpsracing.com/products/MPS/hc01.asp
2. You only have a mile to get to your target speed. IMO, you will reach 5th gear and maybe 6th at the traps ( depending on your gearing )
So... it is important? IMO , Yes... but the surface is gritty and loose, you may do a burn out, but alot of the bikes are spinning in 1st, 2nd,3rd...
If this is your first time out, I would not worry about it much, concentrate on the process, the safety items, the rest will fall into place over the weekend.
There will be alot of great people out there, sharing advise, opinions, etc...
You will have fun!

I did! Should be a great turn out, good weather is expected as well.
Picked up the Rs6 this past weekend from SC and enjoyed the drive back to DFW ( Though 90% of the drive was in the rain! )
Who else is coming down? Need to make sure we have enough chairs and drinks in the cooler.... LOL

I am planning on leaving Thursday night to Austin, Goliad before noon Friday... +/-
But I am open to a group drive down and can adapt as needed. I will most likely be pulling a trailer...

I am open to a group leaving as well. Line it up Stevo. Good thing that Audi is yellow. All yellow cars are faster.
