Would it be possible to place me into the "Fast" group instead of the "Fastest" group? It's my first time on one of these drives and would prefer the slower pace. I wouldn't wanna get in the way of some of the other fastest drivers. Yeah I know.....I'm a noob .

I'm right there with ya. I got placed in the fastest group as well. I'm just gonna stay right and drive like hell.

 

Its not like the fastest group shoots fireballs at people while drinking rum like a pirate. Well.

 

The " Fast, Faster, Fastest " title is just that, a title. There will be slow, medium, fastest, cars in every group. After this past weekends pre-drive, each group lead has a better feeling for the route and what to expect. There will be long straights where there may be a blast to speed from a stop, but the groups will be waiting for everyone to catch up before making a hard turn ( dead-end or change of road )

Make sure you bring a FRS radio...

Oh, and I will have limited detailed maps to pass out, so come find me when you arrive to get one!

I do not have " room " in the 1st group, BUT when Saturday comes around, find me and we will get you where you will be most comfortable!

I'm borrowing a FRS radio from a friend. As long as I get to keep it under 139mph (not totally broken in yet), I should be good. I will show up close to 9am and will try to find you Steve. I've got a 2.5 hour drive just to get to the starting point . Then you can stick me in the group with the other BMW M3s if you want.

2. You will keep it under 139mph... these are two lane country roads... with cows, dogs, sharp turns out of no where, etc... Now, AFTER lunch on the way back into DFW , when you are on the highway... that's another story.
3. I'll be at or near the Yellow Rs6
4. Thank You for making the drive, though I would suggest catching a hotel in N.Plano or McKinney for $60 bucks... LOL

I'm going to have to drop out. The part came in to fix my car but after putting it in still have an issue, looks like something is wrong with the new harness porsche sent us (lucky me). New part to try won't be here until thursday or friday so with my current luck it would be a miracle to have it ready by Saturday morning.

SAFE4NOW, if you can't find a replacement and have already paid for lunch let me know and I'll paypal you lunch money.

Blake (aka BlakeR on this forum) mentioned this event on m3post.com.
I know I am coming in late but is there any way to still get in on the 'Fast' group? Since this is my first time I would prefer to get in this group if possible.
