Anyone have any word on who the driver may have been and whether they hang on the boards?

Wow, that article is written in an extremely biased, sensationalized fashion. She wasn't even pulled over all the way off the highway.

Sure it is , when have you ever read an article that was any other way. Traditional reporting is long gone but the dude in the Cayman has not one excuse for hitting her. And yep-that was her obit.

Wow just because it was a Porsche they want to hang this guy. I wonder how the comments would have gone if it were a Chevy???
I am sorry for the family and no one should have to go through this. I hope the truth comes out.

I also think NASCAR should do commercials about moving you F***ing car off the road!! You see what these guys are driving back to the pits? Sometime flame shooting out. Jesus Christ someone has a mirror clipped off and the car is stopped in the middle of the lane for hours.

that's uncalled for...

what a tragic accident. driver is clearly at fault for plowing into a disabled car on the shoulder. i don't think he should be charged for homicide though.

Your are a moron for that comment.

Hadn't heard about charges- manslaughter maybe- but often in traffic, if there is excessive speed or recklessness involved they will run a guy on a vehicular homicide charge. Speed is easy to prove on that part of the highway from the date stamps on the traffic cams and watching the timing points from one cam to another.

You are either very young or very stupid or maybe a combo of each. Either way you are an embarassment to this forum for making such a moronic statement

Very sad story, there are definitely to many distractions today with a lot drivers on the road, we all know it only takes a split second, time we can never turn back.

Lot of interesting facts in the article and such a tragic circumstance. How many times have we all goosed the throttle a little on an on-ramp or over a crest... imagine if it were dark and a car was hanging half way out in the lane in front of you. Only the driver really knows what happened. The article is certainly trying to paint a specific picture by mentioning things like, "She was just trying to pay her bills" and even referencing the Porsche.

Either way, it sounds quite clear that he was traveling well over the speed limit or at the very least, didn't touch the brakes before impact. Imagine the forces at work to send her parked, heavy american car end over end traveling 60 ft, and his own car 260' before comming to a stop. Prayers and thoughts to her family and friends.

Unhappy

That is horrible for all parties involved.

My thoughts go out to her family and friends.

But the news article makes it sound like a Porsche Cayman attacked a Ford Taurus.

Here is the news report:
http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Mothe...102232129.html

From what I understand the driver of the Porsche was behind another car and the car in front of him moved over at the last second to avoid the stalled car leaving him with little to no time to avoid the collision. I am sure speed had a factor in it and if he was not traveling at such a high speed or so close to the car in front of him he may have had chance to avoid the car.

I doubt his intentions were to cause anyone harm and is having a difficult time with the reality that he was involved in an accident that resulted in the loss of a life.

It’s a sad day for all families and friends involved.
