2000 Harder to shift into 2nd gear when cold.
I have a 2000 boxster and like the title said I felt that it is harder to shift into 2nd gear when the car is cold. Seems to shift smoother after 15 minutes of driving. Can it be trans oil? or is it the clutch? Thanks for any info.

It's the gear oil......................
It's the gear oil, only problem is that Porsche uses a unique oil with no comparable rating to API type oils sold in the US. There has been a lot of dialogue, and some controversy concerning what oil is the correct replacement. Mobil 1 (and others) have come out and said they do not have a suitable gear oil for the application, while other sellers have said both yes and no to the same question, making it impossible to determine if some other product would cause issues.
While some have posted that they have used non-Porsche gear oil with no problems, considering the consequences of being wrong, buy the over priced factory fill (which is a full synthetic), shift better during the day and sleep better at night................
