August 25-26 HPDE at WGI w/Ross Bentley of Speed Secrets
The Genesee Valley Chapter of the BMWCCA is proud to present 2 concurrent driving programs at our August 25-26 event at Watkins Glen International Racetrack.
The First Program features Ross Bentley’s Speed Secrets Advanced Driving Techniques Seminar and Driving School and is open to the first 50 highly experienced drivers (A/B level students who have been signed-off to solo, club racers, and instructors) that register.
Seminar Topics include: Common errors // 100% Tire Rule // De-mystifying Trail Braking // The Speed Equation // Slip Angles // Driving at the Limit // How to best learn a track // Tune my car or tune my driving? // Self coaching techniques // The art of brake application and release // Change of speed // Driving dynamics, traction circle // Springs, anti-roll bars, shock absorbers, tires //and much, much more!
Note: People wishing to only attend the Bentley Speed Secrets seminar and not drive on the track, can do so at a reduced price.
The Second Program is our traditional GVC Mid-week Driving School for advanced/intermediate and novice drivers. Each run group is scheduled for a minimum of 4 half-hour sessions of on-track instruction each day.
The Genesee Valley Chapter has over 25 years of experience conducting HP driving schools at Watkins Glen, and is nationally recognized for its carefully structured, state-of-the-art, 2-day instructional program emphasizing skill development and safety. Our highly trained and experienced in-car instructors coach participants at all levels of skill development, from novices to club racers and instructor candidates, reinforcing the theory and practice of high performance driving taught in the classroom by one of our master classroom instructors. The knowledge and skills learned here will certainly carry over to “the street”, making you a more confident and safe driver.
In addition, this event offers...
A Car control clinic: Novice students learn basic car control skills with an in-car instructor on a course set up in a paved infield paddock area. Required of all novice students, the car control course is also available to interested intermediate and advanced students, as well as instructors.
A Track “Walk”: A guided tour of the track led by Ross Bentley will be held at the end of the first day.
Garage Party: After the track walk, we convene in the Kendall Garage to meet and mingle with other drivers, instructors, friends and family, while enjoying a complimentary buffet, beer, wine and soft drinks.
Souvenir Shirts: To commemorate the event and give you bragging rights back home, you will receive a limited edition "Ultimate Driving School" shirt.
GVC BMW CCA events are not limited to BMW cars and owners. Cars of any marque are allowed as long as they meet specified technical and safety requirements. Convertibles, open-top cars, trucks, SUV’s and SAV’s are NOT allowed to participate in this event. Single seat vehicles or vehicles without a passenger seat are also NOT allowed.
